Previously

The party found the core of crime and the people who found us first work for Clapperclaw.

Whitehats (so called because they wear white) are left alone as they are not part of any crime group, but they do civil services to keep the place running smoothly.

Kincaid made an appearance to the party and he received a message about Lu-Ann, which left him a bit shaken. (Faylen was not here for that.)

Faylen and Axamonar

Faylen and Axamonar go off to the market and to go find the magic that’s in the Core of Crime - he’s curious about the crime magic that’s here. Axamonar wonders if magic is used to commit crime, or if the magic is forbidden magic - Faylen imagines that it’s both of them, and - of course - illegal or stolen magic items. He winds up following Axamonar.

Faylen notices a rat is watching himself and Axamonar - it’s a large rat. Faylen notices it and then tells Axamonar the rat that he’s seen. The rat motions and points into an alley and then moves into it, then comes out and waves at us and points and goes back in. Faylen says that this is such a bad idea, to which Axamonar agrees and then immediately follows the rat down the alleyway.

We find that the alley is one that is made for meeting people (some alleys are just alleys, others are places to meet and conduct business) and within are many animals and a bugbear. He greets us and comments that we are new, and that Faylen smells of magic and that Axamonar is very new and leshys that size don’t normally want to commit crime.

Rodozz - Bugbear, crime druid

Axamonar speaks up to say he would like some improvements on this physical form that he’s in (a tiny leshy). Rodozz asks what kind of changes and so:

  • Abs
  • Being larger

The Party (sans Faylen)

Clapperclaw explains that the party can never go back to that bar again. Bosch is disappointed because someone at that bar owed him a favor, but he can find someone else. She says they can still go to the bar but it will be at our peril. Mary says that they’ll keep an eye on the place since they don’t know where Faylen will be.

We explain that Sage Axamonar is here (Clapperclaw asks if he’ll be clutching his pearls, Tabby says he doesn’t know how that man thinks) and Mary then explains that the reason the prison fell was because we went to rescue Axamonar. She is surprised that Izoraxx is just jailing other sages, and comments that he will be violently dealing with Izoraxx when they run into him.

Clapperclaw is disappointed at the leshy appearance and Mary explains that he and Faylen left to find the magic district to fix the overall form for Axamonar to fix that.

Clapperclaw asks what we need and Bosch explains:

  • Something to deal with Izoraxx
  • Deal with Kincaid

The Party Together

The party finds each other near a park where Bosch finds information about a guy he’s looking for more information in.

The party tells Faylen about Kincaid - he’s here, he’s watching us, he knows what’s happened, but he’s different now (he reacted very emotionally).

We stand around wondering what to do and how to create a revolution. As we think about it, we consider Kincaid and he comments that if we were to take soldiers that are already dead then they won’t be worried about their demise - they’re already dead. Perhaps we could consider that. He says that once you consider something such as this then things become much easier. Kincaid feels it’s time to talk at his place. He sees our hesitation and he relents - we can name a place and he will meet us there instead. Bosch recalls a place he liked and names the place.

Bosch leads the way to the warehouse he recalls and we head that way. Bosch picks the lock and we go inside and there’s an awakened shark in a suit asking what he can do to help us. He wishes to give us a loan. We decide to leave and Bosch apologizes for intruding, but then the shark realizes who Bosch is and comments that Bosch is bad for business, and there are numerous people who would love to see his head roll.

There’s a tense moment where Bosch just about starts fighting, but Jet the loan shark decides against it and then asks who’s authority will be making him leave, and Kincaid appears behind us saying his. Jet leaves quickly.

Kincaid tells us we need to focus: we need to put aside his unnatural state and the entire undeath thing to work together to stop the future from happening. We do a quick information dump about what we know to compare notes since we are all working together to stop the future.

We all agree that Izoraxx needs to be dealt with. While killing him isn’t off the table, we can’t entertain the idea of openly fighting him. Bosch had suggested kidnapping and Kincaid explains we can kidnap him and put him somewhere until we can deal with the Dark Demesne - pocket dimensions, the aboreals can contain sages, or Kincaid has a contact that can create a pocket dimension to hold him at bay for 10 years or so.

His contact is not here, but we can get to the contact through the city. There’s a teleportation specialist that lives here that can take us there. The contact is named Emer Kaine - he wonders if Emer is related to the Kaine that sold this plane out.

Kincaid will find Emer and make sure we can approach and talk with him. Kincaid comments that he will be able to find us as long as we remain in this city. We part ways.

We decide to try to figure out where Axamonar is and we find the general area, hearing Axamonar calling out sounding like he’s having fun.
