Captured!

The Party Sans Bosch

Our items are taken away from us and all of us except for Bosch are put in a nice cell. It is a room in the keep that’s been turned into a cell. We are told that if we try to run or are difficult then our living situation will be “downgraded.” It’s a pretty spartan room, but it’s spartan in the way that the Warhawks are rather than an attempt to deprive. We have beds, a restroom, etc - we essentially have a nice room we are not allowed to leave. Our future will be discussed in the future. How soon we see Bosch will depend on our level of cooperation.

On the mantle is a small box that is magical that. The box is not a listening device so it’s not being used to keep eye on us, and I assume that the ceiling is where the monitoring is.

Bosch

Bosch wakes up in a room without windows and filled with objects that are very random overall. It’s a small 3x3 room and he’s laying on top of a large plush that is a seal, basically a large fuzzy ball with a small nose on it.

He wakes up and for a moment thinks he woke up in Akker’s room, issuing an apology. There is no response and he retracts his apology and then starts to dig through the pile of stuff. He finds:

  • a spent grenade (the casing)
  • a 3x3 glossy photo of Akker, signed
    • finger guns

Bosch continues to look around and finds some pieces of things and starts trying to assemble things together to figure out how things fit together. He manages to get his first step complete and then starts playing his flute.

The stonework varies from the castle.

Tabby, Faylen, Mary

Faylen pulls Tabby and Mary into a huddle so that we can talk without being caught (hopefully). Faylen explains he has two slots of gecko grip that he can use so that we can try to climb somewhere and Tabby assures them that he can climb wherever we go. There’s a window up above us, and a window to the right: Tabby is confident he can climb up and so Faylen casts gecko grip and they climb up. The window is closed and Mary doesn’t hear anyone inside. Faylen uses gouging claw to shatter the window and they climb inside, finding themselves in the armory.

Bosch

Bosch eventually tries to get himself back on track. There’s nothing particularly large and sturdy in here to build off of, which is the biggest problem. He realizes that the door itself is large and sturdy, so perhaps he can use that. He examines the door and finds the hinges. He then pulls out a hammer and something that’d work as a chisel or piton to hammer out part of the corner of what’s in front of the door. He gets the corner lifted up and then reaches around to find the hinge.

He finds that the door is weird: it doesn’t feel like a prison door. He finds the hinge and manages to pull the hinge bolt out, and then uses that as the spike to batter down the bottom corner with the same process and extract the other hinge spike. As long as there’s only two hinges, that side of the door is loose.

Bosch can see out of the door now, seeing a larger space - it could be a room, or something else. It’s remarkably similar to where he is now: filled with objects. He pushes on the hinge side of the door and opens the door the wrong way. He starts working to bend all of the corners, rounding it off, and then gets back to work.

He takes a brief detour in the other room to find more items to make improvised tools, but he doesn’t feel he’s escaped yet. He continues to work to make the door more oval shaped.

Tabby, Faylen, Mary

We are in the armory. A lot of the items in here are not special, it just holds the normal stuff the Warhawks use. Tabby finds a lion scythe: it’s very similar to a normal scythe, but weighted to be an actual weapon. Faylen finds a Flyssa. We hear the guards outside talking about needing to find us and disperse: we figure out Ron is probably in charge of us and doesn’t want to have to report he lots us.

Bosch

Bosch finishes shaping the door and then leaves into the larger room of stuff. The air is stale in here: he’s the first in a long time to be here. He looks around and finds more items to work on making his thing, another successful step done. It’s not pretty, but it gets the job done: it’s the right shape, the moving parts move as they should, the nonmoving parts move a little bit.

He finds a compass and tries to find north, but the compass spins and there’s something weird going on here.

He finds the way out and takes his thing with him and finds an even bigger room with stuff inside. He doesn’t see a door within here, but the air is definitely fresher in here. He sniffs around looking for sulfur and/or saltpeter. He takes his time and finds what he’s looking for.

Bosch takes some time to look over the place they’ve put him. He recognizes that they likely know that he’s the one with prison escape experience.

Tabby, Faylen, Mary

We leave the armory and look around, pretending to be Warhawks searching for the escaped prisoners. We go around looking for Bosch. Faylen feels a magical brand on him that starts to burn and that feeling intensifies before he disappears and it feels as if he’s being burned out of existence - he manages to call out that Bosch is in the box, implying the one on the mantle in our original cell.

Ron, disguised as an elfin guard, calls out to Mary and Tabby to go with him so that he can get them alone.
