Summary & Reminders

Session Date: 07/05/2024

In Game Date: August 26th, 2045

Previous Session: It was getting late as the group returned to the Curb Stomping Word Vomit warehouse. Saint pushed us all out and Garf, Seo, Emerick, and Omen went to the safehouse with a long conversation, while Net went to see his uncle.

Reminder: The police precinct is having their speech and Emerick has a pass to that. The police chief will be there giving the speech. Miranda Vasquez will be there as part of the selected group of representatives there. She is listed as a representative so she will likely be on stage rather than in the barricade.

Other Notes: Saint’s character was out sick this session. :(

Emerick

Emerick wakes up and is slow to get around, seeing a handful more texts from Phoenix. He goes through his normal routine and at breakfast he reads the messages that Phoenix sent him, which is a series of panicked texts asking what’s going on and if he’s okay. He texts her a huge apology and agrees that they need to meet, and he sends his schedule. She suggests meeting up at the diner they first met, and Emerick agrees, and they set a time for 2pm.

It is 2 and he shows up to the diner he was going to meet Phoenix at, waiting for him. He joins her. He explains some of the things that Juice has done to the band and himself. Emerick asks if she would be willing to find information about Juice, and it’s clear that he is one step away from getting on his knees and begging. Phoenix

Phoenix reaches into her jacket and searches around, and pulls out one little tablet and tells Emerick that this is a very effective detox medication that he can give to Cipher - essentially, drug therapy in a pill. Cipher will feel like shit for two days, but after that he will be cured of the blue glass. She’s only doing this because working with us the last time has proven to Phoenix that she needs to be ready for anything, and if anyone’s tripping balls in the middle of mission, she needs something to counteract this, so this is out of her own kindness.

As for Emerick: it sucks that there’s no story to be had here because nobody wants to hear this kind of thing, they only want to hear the good shit and what makes money, but that doesn’t mean that she can’t help. She will. She will needs equipment:

  • 500 eddies encryption equipment, but Net could fabricate for 250

He begins to apologize for bringing her into this, and she cuts him off and says that he clearly needs help with this shit, and that what he’s going through is not okay in any shape or form. She doesn’t care how bad it is, he doesn’t need to do this alone. She reassures that he’s not a burden, and she respects that he isn’t sure what is or isn’t tapped, because at the end of the day we don’t want to give away what information we do have.

If there is anything else he needs information on - the goal being we don’t work for Juice anymore - then we will need a replacement. Other fixers can probably find someone, but the problem is interviewing them. She asks to talk to Charley sometime to let him know there are more allies out there that wish to help, and Emerick says he’ll talk with Charley to see if he’s amenable, and gets permission to give him her details if he’s open to talking.

Emerick’s Agent goes off with a notification that the recent announcement was made that a very special guest is going to be speaking at the event as well: Ida Mueller will be making a speech at the event with the topic of discussion will be her new surveillance bot to help with NET operations - presumably the spyder bot. He starts small talking with Phoenix about this, and as he skims the article he notices another special guest that seems hot shit: Mr. Steele will be there himself.

They chit chat a little bit more before eventually getting up to leave, with Emerick texting Net and asking if they can meet up because he has something for Cipher, and wants to see if Net could make something for him (details to be discussed when he gets there).

Net

Net lets Tab know what’s been going on recently - everything everything, including why he went to his uncle to begin with and everything. He’s telling this to Trash Tablet, who is surprised that Net went to his uncle for this kind of thing. Tab says that this life isn’t the type to leave, and Net is not making it easy to leave, either. He recognizes that Net has a lot of family, but it won’t be easy, and Net knows how hard it is to work for him.

Net acknowledges it, but admits that this is the lesser of two evils. Tab admits that he hates scum messing with his family and if it were not for the whole situation, Tab would have Juice killed. Net mentions Ogre not by name and explains that the man is perhaps a bit crazy, and tough as fucking hell.

Tab says that no matter what happens, they’ll see him through. Tab says that he’ll be damned if anyone lays a hand on Net, and Net omits the fact that they had.

The chat is overall good, and Tab sympathizes with Net. He wishes he could do more to help, but he understands why we are stuck at this moment, and that it’s just an overall shitty situation.

Omen & Garf

Omen reaches out to contact Serpent and asks him if he can send an anonymous message to someone. Serpent says it’ll cost about $200. Omen offers a favor, and Serpent says okay: he has to scatter some gangers from a location, no preference as to how it’s done. If they get dropped then he’ll gladly relay Omen’s message.

There are five people at the coordinates that Serpent provided, so Omen realizes he can’t do this alone. He calls Garf and asks her to meet him at the coordinates. He waits for Garf to arrive.

The location is a small office building. The main problem is that they are a rival upstart game that thinks they’re hot shit and they don’t know what they’re doing and they’re in over their heads. They saw that there were not a lot of people guarding this building so they took it under their control. Tl;dr rival gang encroaching on territory, get rid of them, make them sorry.

Garf does a scan and finds a convenient access point in an alleyway on the outside of the building. There’s nobody back here, so she jacks in. She’s met with a password and easily cracks it. She does a quick pathfinder and finds there’s four levels. At the password has a hellhound, and the final level has a control node. Garf goes down one level to the password level and briefly now remember that she gave away her cyberdeck to Cipher. Garf is going to try to slide past, which fails, resulting in her being on fire. She takes care of the hellhound and then goes down to the control node. She manages to get access to it and it’s a camera system.

Garf leaves a silly virus that is caramell dansen over a picture of Knuckles that says “come get me fuck-ass” and then uses eraserr, cloaks, and safely jacks out. She says there’s five people inside.

Omen goes inside and demands to speak to the leader of the group, and attempts a facedown. The two of them are equally matched and the guard asks what the fuck he wants, and Omen says to speak with his boss, and then stabs him with his sword. Omen’s luck failed and his attack was spotted from the inside. Combat next session.
