The Group Chat
Emerick has sent out a message to the group about what’s going on with Omen and one way or another we create a second group chat without Omen. The group discusses what’s going on and Net lets on that Omen had gone to the coordinates that Emerick had found with regards to Mr. Steele and Audun Bredall.
Garf comments she’s going to go get Saint and Net is working on cleaning up the van that Garf had brought him.
Garf heads towards Saint. She calls her nomad pack, Mercury Chrome, and asks for reinforcements. She makes it to Saint’s to pick him up. Saint is getting ready to go to bed and Garf pounds on his door, dragging him away from the possibility of bed. She puts Saint in the side car of her bike and they speed toward the coordinates.
Net goes to pick up Emerick in the van and they initially wanted to go the speed limit, but they know Garf too well and speed their way to the coordinates.

The Group Chat → The Shed
It took 1.5 hours to get to the coordinates, so there are 3.5 hours until Omen is killed.
When we all show up we are a mile out so that we have time to get their shit out. Emerick explains everything that he found with regards to the shed. We aren’t sure if the shed is the entrance to the bunker, or if it’s something else. We all discuss and prepare.
We approach the shed carefully, looking around. Garf notices four little mounds that are likely from turrets hidden in the ground. Emerick notices the same four encasements of the turrets, but he also sees a shimmer of light passing over a lens on the shed itself, but he loses track of where they are at very quickly, so he can’t point them out. He mentions the turrets and the cameras, and Garf asks if we think the door is trapped. Emerick says it probably is.
Net goes up to the door to investigate it for any traps. The door looks pretty standard for what it is, though he does notice the standard lock is currently unlocked. As he was investigating it and looking around, he does stumble upon some debris and it looks like shrapnel. There is evidence of something happening here, and he can assume that there was some sort of explosive charge set or some explosion that happened here. He opens the door maybe an inch to push his fingers through. He doesn’t notice anything out of the ordinary to see if the door itself is trapped. The door pushes inward.
Net takes his time to just. Remove the door. From the door frame. He pulls it outward and then leans it against the shed. It turns out that the door is a door. Once the door is off its hinges, we look inside to see what’s going on. Net can tell - before setting foot inside - that there is a small sensor on the ground right where someone would step into the shed. It’s a soft, steady blink every ten seconds or so. The floor is a tile floor , but it’s the blinking light that sticks out. There is definitely something right there. What else Net can see is that it looks pretty barren. He can see another door that leads down in another part of the shed.
Net can tell that the sensor is specifically a motion sensor. Any motion above it that trips the sensor will cause something to happen. He has no way of knowing how strong the sensor is: some are very accurate, some are not so much. He has everyone back up at least 15’ and throws some sand over the sensor, setting the trap off. He gets flung back 10’.
Emerick hears the sound of the alarm and the turrets coming up. Emerick mentions it and says if anyone has a smoke grenade to drop it now, which Saint does. The turrets can’t target and we rush inside the shed and Net kicks the door to the stairs open, and we rush down the stairs. Once we reach the bottom, we are greeted with an underground hallway that leads to a secure door. We finally take a breath to catch ourselves and look around and lower our heart rates. As we are taking our moment, we see that there is a monitor above the secure door and a keypad next to the door.
Eventually, a lockdown door falls and blocks off the staircase and our escape route is blocked off from us. Immediately after, the monitor turns on and it’s Mr. Steele sitting in a chair. He says:
My, my. I knew this day would come at some point. Seeing you all here brings such joy to me, knowing that you all are about to be victims to a game that I’ve been meaning to test out. See, it’s no secret that I’ve been dabbling in some experimentation here, and it’s going to be quite a fun time. See, a lot of the people I’ve been experimenting on already are people like myself: those that have taken a liking to cyberware to various degrees. Well, I wanted to take those who have pushed it to their extremes and see what extremes are too far, and what aren’t too far. To see if we could get some sort of desired result. And, I think that there was no better candidate, and nobody has proven to be a better or good candidate, until your buddy, Omen, showed up at my front doorstep.
The monitor switches over to Omen on an operating table with wires and tubes and medicine bags. He’s hooked up to life support shit as he’s being retrofitted with some cyberware. Everyone but Emerick can tell what’s being installed on Omen:
- mantis blades
- quick release grenade belt
- sandevistan
- shotgun collar
Something inside of the room plays and we can see Omen freak the FUCK out - it’s a lot of nonsensical stuff, nothing true from some pre-recorded thing. It’s some bullshit about how we feel about him - shit like we don’t care about him, we think he’s worthless, your pack left you, they hate you, etc. We see this happening live while Omen just absolutely loses his fuckin’ cookies. Eventually the secure door opens up and Mr. Steele takes over the monitor.
You all have about three hours to save your friend. If you don’t save your friend within that time, him and you all will die. Either it will be just your minds that will break, or maybe your bodies will too - it just depends on how I’m feeling, and who I view as worthwhile to bring into this new world. So please, don’t hesitate to save your friend here. This is the only chance you’re going to get.
With that the monitor switches back to Omen’s cell and we hear the tape stops playing, followed by a set of doors opening. Flashing red lights begin flashing as the door opens and Omen immediately rushes off.
