Session Start

Dia, Arythas, Rohan

The Mad Mage had said that everybody dies and started the self destruct feature of the base. Dia is certain that through the secret cave that we rested in, there might be an exit to the surface without having to swim through all the water. She climbs atop the drill and gets everyone’s attention and yells as loud as she can that we are going to get out of here and she needs to know everyone’s resources and we need to work together and not panic.

Time seems to slow for Rohan and a voice enters his mind and asks if he would like some help getting out of this, along with everyone else. Everyone will live, but the price will be steep. Rohan does point to the mine carts and ask how easily we can turn a mine cart into a boat and Dia chimes in to say that they will not float, we cannot make them boats. Rohan looks around and sees that there is plenty of wood in the shanty town, so something could be made. He calls out looking for carpenters.

Arythas watches the situation unfold and he activates his command cuirass and he begins barking orders based on what Dia and Rohan need.

Magic ripples through the place and there was a rather nasty teleportation of some kind and then the ceiling cracks and water starts to pour in. There’s definitely fear, but the group has enough control that people are not fully panicking.

Dia goes into the small secret tunnel with some miners and summons a morningstar religious weapon and starts to hit the wall. This marks where the miners should start to dig and they begin.

Rohan begins directing the carpenters to try to get them to start building a

  1. Boat to float everyone to the surface
  2. Dome like structure to trap a pocket of air to help get everyone up

Rdest & Misha

Misha looks around and sees the locked door, telling Rdest that they need to go. Rdest explains that she needs to start creating a battery for the drill, and so she works on that. Misha stays with her to make sure nothing attacks her in the process. There’s a pulse of magic that goes through and Rdest knows that it will not be long before the actual automatons are worthless. Magic ripples through the place and there was a rather nasty teleportation of some kind and then the ceiling cracks and water starts to pour in in the main room.

Rdest finishes with her battery and Misha picks her up and runs her back to the main room. Rdest shoves the battery into the drill and the drill powers on and she starts to look at the controls.

The Entire Party

Rdest gets the drill to where Dia is working with the miners. She aims the drill up and and then locks it in place so it stays in place and continues to drill. She runs off to work on something else.

Dia goes out to the main room and begins sending people after the drill and starts treating the people who are injured and she gets overwhelmed. She tells herself that this has to work. It has to!

Meanwhile, the voice chimes back in to Rohan’s head and says that the first one will be free - it’ll send the first person out and give them something to eat - food. Rohan begins to consider it and then shakes his head and refuses to accept it, saying that this has to work.

Misha begins to help the miners reinforce the tunnel so it doesn’t start to collapse. Arythas grabs his arm and asks him to make sure Dia doesn’t try to sacrifice herself for the sake of everyone else - pick her up and carry her if he has to. Misha agrees to try and Arythas moves on to help get people to the exit.

Rdest makes it back to the main room and summons an army of plushies to plug to hole the water is rushing in.

Dia notices Rohan talking to someone and then the voice from Rohan appears in her head: it asks Taraaq to be quiet and Dia suddenly screams Rohan’s name. Rohan tells Dia to ignore it, and the voice says that if she cares about saving everyone, to agree. The voice starts singing kumbayah on the way out and Dia realizes that she’s not doing enough, this will not work. She continues to work on helping others.

Rohan notices boats are starting to be made and he starts directing people out with the boats that are made. The voice does not speak to him.

Misha finds Dia and starts to grudgingly help her with taking care of people just so that he can keep her close. He does know that if Dia isn’t able to take care of these people she’ll go bonkers.

Arythas continues directing people out.

Rdest maintains her spell with the plushies plugging up the hole. She checks in to see how everyone is and Dia says she’s fine, it’s fine, she has under water breathing (she says pointedly because she knows Arythas will try to drag her out) and she will be fine. Rdest keeps prodding to try to figure out what the plan is that Dia has. Rohan glances over and sees Dia there, and then speaks to the voice in his head and tells him to get Dia out of here - the voice laughs and says that she will be the one that’s free.

Dia blinks and is above ground, but Rohan watches her disappear in a violet mist. Dia demands that she be sent back, and the voice says that he was trying to sweet talk Rohan and she was the one free. He can’t send her back unless he wants to make a deal with him. He explains that he’s an enemy of Rohan’s father, but not one that wishes to rise. He likens that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, as to why he wishes to help. (Rohan is also hearing all of this.)

The prince says that saving the rest will cost Rohan - he and the party will have to do something for him. Rohan asks if the work will be done against his father, and the prince says perhaps, and then Rohan says that as long a we are working against his father then they have a deal. The demon prince snaps his fingers and everyone is teleported out of the drowning cavern.

Rdest immediately jumps onto Rohan and starts chiding him and asking him who he asked for help and Rohan admits he doesn’t know. Rdest is in disbelief that he’d make such a deal without knowing who he’s dealing with.

There’s a vioce as the figure is sitting in a beach chair with a drink in hand and he stands and looks at us. He has skin like polished obsidian and eyes like emeralds. He’s beautifully sculpted like sin. Rdest lets go of Rohan to run to him to look at him up close. He has yellowed fangs and six fingers on each hand. The demon introduces himself as Graz’zt and he promises to make Rohan’s dad’s day (or year) awful.

Rdest has no clue who this is, but everyone knows he’s Graz’zt the dark prince, a demon of pleasure, decadence, and self indulgence. Dia additionally found him interesting when she was younger and did more research on him as a teenager.

Rdest looks back at Rohan and says, “this is the guy you made a deal with?” Graz’zt says that we are all safe, aren’t we? Nobody drowned, nobody died - good day, right?

Rohan gets up and doesn’t look at us and says that we ahve to face his
