Session Date: 12/06/2024
Week of Sunday, September 3rd, 2045
The week passes by and everyone does what was outlined in Session 037. Over the course of the week, Emerick works with the Mercury Riders to give Omen a proper burial for a nomad that would make him happy. El Charro Negro (Javier) and the gang add Garf and omen to an ofrenda to honor them as well.
Sunday, September 10th, 2045
Everyone gets a text message from Juice saying that he has news to announce to everyone and we need to report to the warehouse.
Ryne and Emerick live in the warehouse and are already there. Net grabs his shit and hops in the van and heads toward the warehouse. Sulfur calls his cat - Jack - over and brings him to the warehouse with him. Saint also makes his way out and toward the warehouse.
Over the better part of an hour, everyone trickles in. All of the band members are there doing their own morning routine. Emerick greets them as they come in for breakfast (which is returned). Alice changes her hair extensions to different styles regularly - today the theme is a lime green what we in the real world would consider a cyberpunk outfit. Ri is as energetic as ever, and he goes about his morning with some snacks and sitting on the couch to watch some TV. Juice and Ogre stay upstairs and out of sight.
Charley does eventually come in and gets a drink, and stands looking at everyone out there. He’s reflecting as he watches everyone go about their routine. He’s uncharacteristically lost in thought, reflecting on something. Emerick notes this and will ask about it later.
Net & Crack Pipe
Crack Pipe and Powder do come inside for once. Net calls Crack Pipe over to ask about the project, and Crack Pipe takes him out to the garage to show him the project. The last time Net had been out here was when he got his ass handed to him out in the driveway in Session 018. The car itself is really starting to take shape and looks as pristine as it can get for a mid-project car, really taking up shape. It’s a six passenger hot rod. Net realizes he genuinely misses working on this car.
Net makes the mention that he doesn’t love having to pay for a combat cab back and forth everywhere because the jobs haven’t really been around and implies he’s a little short on cash. Crack Pipe comments that Juice called everyone for a job and Net - sarcastically - comments he cant’s wait for the job for Juice.
Emerick & Powder
Emerick waves Powder over because he has something to ask her something. She comes up and asks what’s up, and Emerick asks how she’s been doing and what’s been going on. She explains the project car and Emerick asks about it and she takes him out to the garage to talk about it. She explains
The Meeting
We all go back in as things stir and Juice and Ogre come down to speak. Ryne is standing on the side of Juice opposite of Ogre. Juice says he has some exciting news: he has a venue and hour for a concert, along with enough publicity to support it. Juice says this is the first real concert and that it’s the first good venue he’s had. Net asks if it’ll go better than last time, and when Ryne and Sulfur asks what that means, Net brushes them off saying not to worry about it. Juice gives Net a Look but moves on.
The concert is Next Tuesday Sept 19th. The venue is Whispers of Rust.
Anyone not solely focused on Juice notices that Charley has something to say. When Juice finishes his spiel, Charley does a slow clap entrance and steps forward. He stops and pulls out a bottle from one of his pockets. He walks forward and says that is amazing to hear, and everyone can feel the sarcasm. As he continues, he’s actually being sincere and genuine, but he’s reinforcing things without actually saying them - the way he’s being openly sideways really highlights how he feels about Juice despite his genuine joy at a show. Charley thanks everyone for their effort and comments that things are looking up finally, and the sky’s the limit. He couldn’t be happier with anyone else but us, with his back to Juice as he addresses everyone but the fixer.
He then opens the bottle and glances as Juice as he continues, hoping the future brings less turmoil for those here. He chugs the entire bottle before Juice.
Ryne - probably against his will - moves towards Charley and tries to attack him. Charley just barely moves out of the way from the bone-breaking strike. Charley then proceeds to attack Ryne in response, managing to land a hit, but it’s ineffective. Charley glances at Juice with an expression asking “is that how it’s going to be?”
It’s clear that this is going to escalate - Net tries to get Charley’s attention, and Sulfur steps in to stop him. Charley was about to pull out a Molotov cocktail - Sulfur tells him to stop as it’s not the time or place. Charley asks who the fuck Sulfur is. Emerick moves in rapidly and tries to appeal to his logic, saying that this isn’t the time, this isn’t the fight, this isn’t the time. Charley is holding a lighter and has a Molotov lit - he goes to take a step forward but stops as Emerick pleads. Charley asks why, it’s all too much, and he lets go of the lighter and puts the Molotov out, shoulder checks Juice, and then heads up the stairs.
As Charley goes up the stairs, Emerick nervously looks at Juice as he starts to follow Charley in place. Ryne’s sense becomes more clear, but he gets the sense of having to guard the area. Emerick tries to get past Ryne, but without any force at all, he can’t.
Sulfur looks at Jack and tells him to follow, with a hand signal pointing at Charley to
The Party
Sulfur asks what is going on and Alice and Emerick begin retelling. Sulfur asks for more information, and Net basically explains that everything is written through Juice’s point of view. Net says the quiet part loud. Ri mentions that if you’re here you’re already ensnared in this web.
Emerick hears - very quickly - a chair sharply move, and then a series of footsteps. There’s a sound of smaller footsteps followed by heavier footsteps. Alice steps forward and looks behind her, asking who’s to come with her, and then looks at Net and points up at the ceiling asking if she’s the problem. She looks at Ryne and asks if he’s going to move or be a problem.
Ryne was able to overcome Juice’s control over him and he leaves his post to get a beer. Crack Pipe approaches Net and asks if he wants to work on a car, and essentially offers Net a way out: Net takes the wrench and goes with him to work on the project car. Net picks up on the fact that this is Crack Pipe’s way of trying to keep Net safe and out of harm’s way.
Emerick goes to follow and Seo puts a hand on his chest and suggests he doesn’t. Emerick receives a notification on his Agent and he notices that Seo received a notification on his agent, and then it comes across to himself. Seo suggests that Emerick make the day as best he can, they will talk tonight. It’s clear that Emerick stops in his tracks per Seo’s suggestion.
Sulfur also stops short. He calls Jack the cat back to him. He has to try a little harder to get the command out because of the commotion, but it eventually works. All that’s left in the living room is Sulfur, Saint, Ryne (kitchen), and Emerick.
Emerick’s Agent vibrates with a bank transfer from Seo for 4k eddies saying: there’s no better time than now to tell you some things. Meet me at this restaurant at this time and location. 8pm. It’s a restaurant that he’s not known of but he dresses up to go to.
Emerick
He gets cleaned up and buys a suit from his sister’s suit line for himself. He goes out of his way to make his best of the day before this meeting with Seo.
The Band
Alice goes up to check on Charley and things are not good. Juice and Charley are at a hard place where Charley is ready to light shiot up. Charley is ready to light things up and Seo and Ri step up to restrain him. When Charley resists, Ogre steps up, and Alice steps up, Ogre quickly and swiftly grabs Alice’s arm and break breaks it, Seo sees this happen and steps up to fight and keeps Ogre at bay.
Charley sucker punches Chalrey in the face after Charley hits Ri. Charley pulls out a taser as Charley jumps the desk and tasers him. Ri is recovering and as Alice i sin shock and Ryne ignores all of this, Seo is conflicted as he’s being dragged multiple ways as he wants to be a mediator. Seo moves around Ogre during this entire situation, inflicting the spinal injury critical injury.
Juice threatens cutting off every single one of us and says he won’t be threatened by every single one of his associates and we should be grateful for what he does for us. Seo retracts his pop up weapon and shakes Juice’s hand to keep the truce as it is so far.
Seo essentially seals everything being fixed.
Saint
Alice’s arm’s been fucked up enough that Charley makes Alice replace her arm with a cyberarm. He receives 2,000 eds for the cyberarm to Alice.
Charley, Ri, and Seo are all superfcial injuries - 2500 toward the band.
Emmy & Seo
Seo texts Emerick and lets him know that things are better now. The is before Seo meets with Emerick beforehand, Seo gives when he will meet Emerick at what restaurant. Emmy goes to meet Seo and thinks that things are too fancy, but realizes this is it. Seo reassures this is all he wants and it’s the night to celebrate what they want. Everyone around them is wearing very well-tailored clothes, with a small margin between them, though it is all high fashion.
Seo had ordered for the two of them to have private seating, so the two of them have a private room where a server comes in occasionally to see to their needs. Emerick admits to Seo that he’s never had real food, and Seo advises he tries a steak dish with a salad and some veggies.
Everyone around them is wearing very well tailored stuff, some people spending more, but it’s all high fashion like they’re waring. Seo ordered private seating, sot they’re in a private room with a server coming in occasionally to see what they need. Emerick enjoys it all, though the overall expense of this is sort of throwing him for a loop.
Seo offers some explanation: he admits that he is far more well off than he lets on to be. He admits that his business is a business his parents invest into, so it’s enough that an evening such as this is just a drop in the bucket. No matter how hard things get with work, they always have a way to have nights like this. He reassures Emerick that they can always have dates like this, anytime Emerick might want. Seo also offers that if Emerick ever needs something like this to get away from everything, he can make it happen.
The two of them spend 2-3 hours together over dinner, chatting and spending time together, and then move on to the party to celebrate the upcoming concert.
The Rest
Net and Powder and Crackpipe receive a message from Alice and the others to party and take some time away from everything else. Crack Pipe wants to stay, but Powder plans to go. Net stays with Crack Pipe to work on the car.
