The Party

We are still at Kestrel St. Clair’s mansion and we discuss how to move forward with things. Kestrel recommends Bloodsoaked Banner and he also has a friend that is a cleric of Avandra, a goddess of luck (among other things). The Bloodsoaked Banner have a manor that was left to them after a lord lost all of his sons in the war - their base is thusly located in a more noble part of town.

The temple in this city is located closer to the docks, nearer to the bad part of town. It’s called The Changebringer Lodge. Kestrel produces a metal disc for those that go to The Changebring Lodge — Rohan takes it and looks it over.

Arythas & Dia

We head toward the more noble side of town. It is a place that Dia is familiar with - her family has a summer house here, and this is specifically the part of town that her father and family visit here. The plan is to start with the Bloodsoaked Banner and then try to hit up the more friendly of the upper crust.

As we make our way to the Bloodsoaked Banner’s manor, we find a group of the Bloodsoaked Banner guys leaving. Dia asks what’s up and they explain Soldos has a visitor and is in a mood, and there’s an explosion from inside. Dia runs inside with Arythas walking in behind.

Dia sees an elf at the bottom of the stairs with the floor singed around him, and it’s clear that Soldos just cast some spell. The elf at the bottom of the stairs is completely unharmed. Soldos is clearly pissed in a way we haven’t seen, and the other elf is very well dressed and put together. He has a symbol of some type that Dia doesn’t recognize.

The stranger asks if they’re going to do this before the children, and Soldos asks him to leave. Soldos turns and welcomes us, explaining we are friends, and the stranger asks Soldos if he has friends. The stranger introduces himself as Ercari and then tells Dia that she clearly is someone that knows business. Ercari explains that Soldos is being unwise and asks Dia to convince Soldos to listen to his free advice. Soldos asks us to move and Arythas does, and Dia does after Ercari is passively aggressive to her.

Dia asks what he peddles as a businessman, and he explains the usual - goods, services, information. He ultimately offers a card to Dia, which she takes. He asks for Soldos to hit him with the fireball, but he declares that Ercari ruined it. He bids us all farewell and leaves, the sound of teleportation marking his final exit.

Business Card:

Ercari import/export. Good for one gold.

The card is definitely magical, but we do not yet know the meaning of it.

Most of the time he just wants to annoy Soldos. He likely has some scheme going, but that’s all that he does this time. Dia asks about the advice and Soldos explains he tried to say something, but after a few centuries with Ercari it’s better to shoot first and never ask questions.

Soldos invites us in for coffee as Dia admits we’re here to ask for a favor. We have some coffee and explain what happened up in the north. Dia admits that Ercari might be the type to get the goods across the continent as it cannot be easy to move the barrels with the thuul, and Soldos admits that Ercari does have tricks. Dia requests that he and his men keep an eye out for any odd shipments, or a lady going mad with power on some level.

We confirm that we are staying with Kestrel, and he comments that the man’s a good one that treats his friends right. Soldos also pays him to compliment that if Soldos were to lead a war, he’d want Kestrel as a general.

Dia informs Soldos that Robin’s mom is in town and is unkind, so be aware as she may be planning something. She also mentions that a cult is looking for Rohan and there may be cult-related activity in the town for this. He admits he doesn’t have much in the way of connections in that part of the city, but he will be aware.

Soldos does comment that Ace Freeman will be out of commission for a while due to many broken bones - good, Arythas comments - and Dia realizes she needs to come up with a new noble identity to hide. Soldos offers up the name Sylvaine, his daughter’s name.

As we step out, Dia looks up and recognizes something in the sky.

Inky, Iskra, Rohan, and Valentine

Before they head out, Rohan asks if Inky could forge some documents to pose as city inspectors. Inky explains he doesn’t know what documents look like here but he could certainly try? They ask Kestrel for help on this and it’s possible, but might take some time to procure. The group decides to go ahead and check out the temple.

They make it to The Changebringer Lodge and they find the priest and greet him. Rohan asks if he can provide help because a friend referred him here, and is currently flipping the metal disc (coin) while talking. The priest takes them down to a hidden area where magic weaves to reveal a huge room beneath, and the priest’s outfit magically changes to a suit.

There are quite a few ratfolk here, a small stage with a jazz band playing. They sit down to begin speaking. The priest asks how they would all — well, all but Iskra — would feel about wearing bunny outfits. Rohan is confused and admits that he expected to be doing something illegal, and the priest says that this is a casino. He does relent and offers an option: they can work for the casino for a few days, or steal a bank.

They ultimately decide to go for stealing a bank and the priest clarifies that they are stealing a bank, not robbing a bank. They thank him for the clarification and opt to go for this because it is faster and more exciting. The priest will get back to them with more details.

Through the conversation, Iskra does chuckle, surprising everyone.

Iskra asks if the priest has ever heard of Tristan, explaining that he’s a dangerous lycanthrope. The priest says it’s not his department, but he does know a Samahin priest that likes to roll the dice. He’ll ask.

Rohan asks if there’s anyone going by the last name Corvo around here, and “Frankie” says that there’s a lady that owns the Full Heart Inn franchise. Frankie confirms her name is Adelaide Corvo.

Dia & Arythas

For as long as Dia recalls there was a dragonne — a combination of lion and brass dragon — that he rides. They don’t typically fly, but this one does. It allows him to move around the city with ease, and it’s named Gust the Dragonne. He’s just flying over. Dia immediately ducks back inside and Arythas stops, looking back at her, asking what’s wrong. She explains that she saw a dragonne, and Arythas glances up to see that it’s already gone, which he comments. She says that yeah, that makes sense, it flies very fast.

She goes up to try to find where it went and she has a feeling he’s going to The Brass Palace. Soldos offers to look into why Dia’s father is in town, which Dia agrees that it is worth looking into. She muses as to why he might be in town, as things are not going well for him at this time.

It’s Lord Duke Regington’s birthday and we will use this as an excuse for Dia’s new noble identity to be here in town and exist.

The Entire Party

We regroup and Dia asks to use Inky’s sending stone so that she can legitimize her new persona. She spends a few more days drafting up the paperwork to make her look like a real document. To see past this paperwork, someone would have to do intense searching in Oceanscar.

Rohan calls a house meeting to discuss something important. He tells everyone about how his mom owns the shady sandwich shop. Rohan says that they’re receiving help to look into that place and that he doesn’t need to do anything more.

Dia lends Rohan the hat of disguise with the caveat that he has to get her a mask like one that he has while out, which he agrees to do.
