Faylen
Faylen was on the train and he was teleported elsewhere. The magic signature is familiar and so he is not particularly worried. He appears in a circle with the Tyro Clement that he knows, and my sister Beitris.
Zeth Seegmiller and Izoraxx are working together on something - some project on the city. She doesn’t know the details but she’s doing a lot of legwork for Axamonar until she leaves to go on a quest to save the realm.
The family update is that mom and dad are out of town after everything starting to happen here. They’re at the summer vacation home right now. She asks if I recall cousin Ricky - Ricmod Iandi. He hates being called Ricky so that’s why we call him that. He tried to bully us, it didn’t work, and he holds a grudge. He’s a reporter for Zeth at this time, and Faylen and is displeased by this. Beatrice explains that the upper crust generally approves more of Izoraxx because of his politicking, while the common people far prefer Axamonar. She recommends that Faylen not return to their home because it is being watched.
They chat a little bit more and she eventually explains that Axamonar has set up a rather swanky place for them to stay while they’re here. She walks him to the place and it’s as if a wizard tower was a hotel. They say their goodbyes and part ways, with Beitris having to go win an arm wrestle or lose control of part of the city. (So she says.)
The Party
As they reach the tower, there’s an explosion on the 7th floor and there is a woman that while he does not recognize her, he does recognize the way she moves as the agent woman Ephiny Lunt (Agent Bryce).
The chase begins. We manage to clear a fruit cart that was in the way, and weave through the regular traffic of the city. We continue ahead and Faylen recognizes two men very carefully moving with a pane of glass through the street - Faylen understands this is the work of the god of comedy, Thaleia. We manage to overcome this challenge, and Ephiny uses a smoke bomb to try to cover her tracks. Bosch drinks some potion that catches him and his weapon on fire and he spins to disperse the smoke, and Faylen, Mary, and Talitha track Ephiny through the smoke and manage to catch up to her as she tries to catch her breath.
She comments once again that she hates us and that we are not playing by the rules, and we are not doing what we should be doing. She gets up and leaves while Bosch points his flaming ladder at someone random - a goblin woman in a suit - Torchy Enko. She’s a reporter that works for The Jewel Herald - the newspaper that doesn’t work for Zeth Seegmiller. She is interested in hearing our story and telling it in an unbiased manner.
Faylen takes the party to a tavern/bar not far from where they were that he knew would have patrons that would not listen to anything they were saying. Torchy explains her entire schtick and how she wishes to tell our story and help prove that adventurer’s are a good force (and perhaps drag Ricky through the mud a bit). The party tells her stories of their adventures - removing anything involving the Seal of Infinity and modifying stories to work without it - but otherwise gives her the account that they can.
Eventually the party explains that Ephiny had left a bomb (fireball rune) in the room before they arrived and they had accidentally set it off, which resulted in the chase earlier. Bosch produces a piece of wood that was from the door and is in the shape of an L. It has Izoraxx’s name carved into it, and Bosch explains that Izoraxx doesn’t know how to take an L and so we are going to go give him one.
