Session Date: 10/20/2025
Summary
Izoraxx has taken power and put Axamonar in prison as the Warhawks starts to march south. Izoraxx has basically blamed Axamonar for everything that’s happened and has labelled us as his accomplices, so we are now fugitives.
Faylen
Faylen had disappeared to help Salaavethor with his archive and filing things away. On the way back to the party, he can hear Clapperclaw’s daughter saying that she will find me and the party soon.
The Party
Faylen stumbles in. There’s an exchange of information where Mary, Tabby, and Bosch explain what all happened while Faylen was out, and Faylen explains that he was helping Sal and that Clapperclaw’s daughter might wind up being a problem in the near future. He also explains the key to Sal’s house so we have a place to stay and rest that isn’t in the open.
Bosch’s shadow grows darker and Kincaid speaks up saying it’s clear we need help. He admits that we are not mentally ready to see an army of undead rise up to fight the Warhawks, but we have plenty of allies that we’ve made. Bosch remembers the Vs Vim, Vigor, and Vogue. Kincaid comments they are working for him to pay off their debt even though they are not aware of such. Bosch asks if he’s just here to chat and Tabby recalls some friends to reach out to, then asks Kincaid if there’s any information on the prison that Axamonar is held in.
Kincaid doesn’t have as much information as he’d like, but he does have a little bit of a map since he was in trouble and inside at one point before he swapped bodies. The prison is called The Firmament.
- Located on an actual cloud (flies, albeit slowly)
- Everyone is afraid of the warden
Kincaid comments that getting there would be easy as we are singled out as very dangerous so that would be our destination. Getting out would be the hard part - he doesn’t think we have allies in there. Kincaid could potentially give us some passwords and code phrases.
Bosch does think he might know someone on the inside.
Kincaid says we could gt inside, or we could stop the Warhawks and have a journalist write about us as heroes. Another option is to give Izoraxx the piece of the Seal of Infinity and negotiate him to leave us alone and possibly get a few mansions out of it - he knows that we won’t take that option, but he should say it out loud anyway.
We can go to the prison and try to get Axamonar out, or start a good old prison riot.
Tabby has an idea: a friend with antlers (the master of the hunt). This makes the shadow smile and Kincaid admits that he wants us to survive. Mary has been quiet this entire conversation, keeping an eye on Kincaid.
Kincaid comments that if we are wanting to fight a war, we may need to find a fey of war rather than a hunter, but it is a good start. He will continue to research the prison for us and in the worst case scenario the guards to have families, so he can figure it out.
Master of the Hunt
Kincaid withdraws and we all discuss what to do next and we agree to let Tabby try to reach out to the Master of the Hunt. We settle down and Tabby begins telling a story of the Master of the Hunt to draw him forth. The story is that the land was in dark and filled with fear, and the Master of the Hunt appeared as courage and we won and was well pleased.
The voice of the Master of the Hunt rings out and agrees that he is pleased. He greets Tabby and we all greet him as is appropriate.
The Warhawks want obedience and submission, he says. He explains he has a small contingent that will follow him into battle, but he and his contingent will not be enough. He will fight with us and support us, and he may introduce us to other powerful beings (mostly fey) that may be interested in our cause. Tabby says that this is wonderful, and more than we can ask for. The Master says it is exactly what we are asking for and since we are friends, he sees no reason not to give it to us.
He looks at all of us and asks how we wish to approach this. He has hunters: bows and arrows, stalking in the middle of the night. He asks if we want an outright battle and Bosch admits that he doesn’t think this is the case, and Tabby comments that it might be better to disrupt and stop things. Mary comments that we need to deal with Lady Ikbur and go from there - she isn’t sure that others won’t pop up (Bosch thinks new heads will sprout for sure) but Mary suggests making the rank and file disapprove of everything so they leave rather than continue.
Tabby thinks it will be a combination of winning hearts and minds and also ending the war before it reaches the Commonwealth. Bosch explains who Izoraxx is and the Master of the Hunt explains that he knows how Izoaxx is and the Master of the Hunt explains that while h can convince his people to not kill, some allies will want to kill and people may die as that is the way their stories go. We understand.
Mary comments that she will see what she can do with the people and denizens of the forest to help with that.
Bosch suddenly has a thought and asks the archfey how to best navigate if we are hunted, commenting that we can lure our target somewhere for an ambush. There is a little discussion back and forth about this and possibilities.
During the conversation Faylen suddenly realizes his sister Beitris was working with Axamonar and writes a letter to send to her. Very quickly a response comes back that the letter was denied by The Firmament Prison Warden.
The Master of the Hunt asks if we would like to speak with The Heartseeker (fey of killing) and warns it will likely cost a favor of some kind.
Mary shares what she learns about where they are headed and from which way. We discuss a little more and Faylen (and I the player) comment that asking The Heartseeker might be the best option as we can possibly convince them to target only the upper leadership that are very committed to the Warhawks and scare off those that are less committed, hopefully thinning the ranks.
The Master of the Hunt walks with us to take us to The Heartseeker’s domain. He warns that we need to speak as this is our cause, and his power is limited. He bids us farewell and disappears.
The Heartseeker
We enter the domain and find the Heartseeker drinking what we hope is a glass of wine. They as what it is we want and Tabby and Bosch explain that there is a war starting and we are hoping to kill the people who are bad so the good live. The Heartseeker admits they don’t care for war as it is inelegant. They do not know of the Warhawks - they do not concern themselves with mortal fads. Bosch speaks up to say we were hoping to coordinate so that they can kill and stop the war.
The Heartseeker thinks we are asking them to risk themselves and keep ourselves safe. Bosch explains that no, we will be doing fights in other places as The Heartseeker kills. Tabby offers to go with The Heartseeker while they do their thing. The Heartseeker thinks of it and admits that they enjoy killing and they enjoy when people fear them and their kind - the idea of stopping an army before they can terrorize a city/town is delightful.
Bosch decides to issue a challenge: if The Heartseeker can cause more chaos than Akker, then Bosch will give The Heartseeker the autographed picture of Akker. The Heartseeker is interested.
They agree to help but we will owe them a favor to be collected later.
The Rest of the Plan
We agree that once the army is dispersed, the goal is to try to lure Lady Ikbur so that we can fight her after everything. Faylen will use the Seal of Infinity to record the fight so that we can later release it to show that Izoraxx is a liar as we defeat Lady Ikbur.
