Session Begin
Torchy gets back to us and says she had to threaten a few guys to get more information about the Firmament, but she asks if we could answer some questions for her with regards to an interview. We agree. She asks us if we are nuts, and Tabby says yes, Faylen says he has to rescue his sister, and Bosch says that he’s working on it! Mary says that we can’t leave Axamonar or Beitris where they are, so we have to get them to help stop Izoraxx from taking over the Commonwealth.
She doesn’t have much information on the Warden, though she knows he uses fear as the method of control. It goes further than just being a bully from hat she understands: people are frightened out there in a way that nobody really got back to her about it.
Torchy explains that she’s working on getting people together to create a sort of resistance for Izoraxx. Torchy also explains that they do employ quite a few people - trolls and the like to carry heavy things, guards live at the Firmament but they do sometimes go down and need to come back up.
We decide to leave the Seal of Infinity with Salaavethor. He’s not surprised that we have it and he is glad to keep it in his house. He does warn us that while the Seal will be safe in his house, it may move around the house and we will have to track it down later. We understand and decide this is a better outcome than possibly having it taken away from us.
We spend some time researching the types of deliveries that are sent to the prison along with what companies actually make the deliveries. Tabby figures out what the company is like and what the uniforms look like, while Bosch steals a previous month’s manifest. This allows him to have an idea of what is being shipped and what happened previously so we can talk about it. There’s also a guard number on the manifest, but we don’t know who.
Through their combined efforts, we get the idea that this is not a run that anyone particularly likes. We also know that this is a rather long commute as well.
The Firmament
We make it to the area below the prison. There are plenty of delivery guys that are already here, along with the ogres. We know that someone has to actually cast a teleportation spell in a specific spot. They ask who we are and Bosch speaks up saying we screwed up the last job and guard 143 wants to yell at us personally and we’re here to do the thing nobody wants to do. Tabby backs Bosch up with complaining and reinforces that even if the current guy isn’t who 143 wants to yell at, he still might yell at him.
The guy says that it sucks to suck, more or less. He gives a quick runthrough on how this works (so we don’t screw up again) and then leaves with his group.
We are teleported up and the building is large and beautiful - it’s been built by a titan or an immortal or something like that. It’s clearly supposed to be a place of luxury but has a rather oppressive aura about it.
Guard 143 greets us and comments we are new. We all nod and say that we’re just here to make a delivery. He says the ogres know what they’re doing and points us in the direction to take the smaller boxes. A few prisoners also help with the boxes and Faylen immediately recognizes Beitris as a prisoner that’s there. It’s clear that she is looking bad: her face is rather haggard and sunken in.
Beitris doesn’t know where Axamonar is kept. Everyone is scared, she explains, and she’s pretty sure not all of this fear is natural. There’s something in the walls. She doesn’t want him to feel like this. He reassures that they will get her out and she asks what the plan is. She comments that they need an army to get out of here and he says that he and the group have done some impossible things, which she admits they have, and it’s annoying.
There has to be an option to remove the shackles and collars. There might be an option to open all those shackles at the same time - but it’s likely in the Warden’s office, which we would prefer to avoid, if at all possible. Bosch does realize that guards need something to remove the shackles from the prisoners as well.
Beitris explains that she will not be leaving because we will need someone that knows what it’s like inside. As Beitris explains that she is going to stay, Tasha Zim approaches Mary and explains she recognizes Mary’s scent. Mary explains that we can get her out, and she needs to get some people to pose as us so that we can remain inside, hidden. She agrees and gets the replacements and we all go into the shivving corridor so that we can prepare for everything.
Tasha explains that the guards have wands that can switch or remove the shackles. She suggests that we do NOT wear them. Tasha suggests we share the scarves with them so that they can disguise and leave.
Bosch goes and creates a diversion to distract the guards, then pickpockets the guard to steal the shackle wand. We then exchange with the people and the person that Bosch is exchanging with is someone that he definitely knows and is clearly pissed at Bosch, but neither of them explain anything at all about it.
Tasha says that if we get out there, we should find her in Noxitudo - the Core of Crime. (Kincaid absolutely has a presence here, though he likely doesn’t have his main base there.)
We get everything put together and put on fake shackles that look like the real ones so that the guards aren’t alerted that we don’t belong there. Beitris explains that she will go with Mary to the women’s wing, but the rest of us must go to the men’s wing.
