Session Date: 09/28/2025

Sigil

Achille had purchased full plate armor during the shopping last session, which wound up being Doomguard armor, with plenty of spikes and less bones. He’s moving a bit stiffly, clearly unused to wearing armor and clunking away. He ultimately goes shopping again after, getting Damaris a little gift.

Silver spends some time at a brothel. After, she goes to the hotel and bothers Nymnar a little.

Zimri sneaks away at one point to get a tattoo, hoping nobody’s noticed he’s gone. Zimri finds a dabus that is walking on the ground rather than floating to do his tattoo, and Zimri explains what tattoo he wants done. He wants a lovely tattoo of a trail to work in with his current poppy tattoo - it’ll be a warding tattoo. The dabus looks at Zimri for a moment, then closes his eyes and a perfect image of what Zimri wants done is made and it floats over to Zimri and embeds into his skin. The dabus still doesn’t speak, he still has the image puzzles, but he does smile as Zimri gushes about it. His name is apparently Fell (the Totally Normal Dabus). Zimri figures out that he’s called Fell because he’s a fallen dabus: he’s been disowned by the Lady of Pain; he became a priest of a dead god in Sigil and so he lost the power of flying because that’s a power from the Lady of Pain. He pays and leaves a nice tip.

We find a place that is run by a faction called the Bleak Cabal. It’s an inn type that’s very mid level. The man working the desk is very apathetic. We get our rooms.

Damaris searches for a training bow so that she can go test out her new bow. There are two places that are open: one that’s nice and neat and tidy and orderly, and the other she can hear people chanting about justice. Damaris goes to check out the justice guys and a man is asking the others to speak on the eight tenants of justice. The area is open to people, so she’s able to try out her bow. Her first shot isn’t so great and some meathead offers to show her how it’s done, which she politely declines.

Nymnar goes shopping with the group, and then he returns to the inn to read his book. He sits in on the poetry night that occurs in the evening.

Nymnar, Silver, and Memories

Silver asks Nymnar if he’d like to see something cool. Silver puts on a ring that is supposed to do… Something, but nothing happens. She fiddles with it a little and then suddenly a very basic wooden door frame and door appears on the wall where she’s gesturing. He asks what he’s looking at and she asks him to look inside. He gets up and opens the door and there’s a very neat and organized storage room with centuries old shelving units, a 10x10 space with trinkets and doodads and clothes and jewels and jewelry and knickknacks from all throughout time. Some of these items are very old and only have value due to the age or because someone cares about it a lot. Some very expired rations, some paintings, some paintings, etc.

On the shelf directly adjacent from the door is a music box that is open and has a perfectly shaped gem like the Sims gem that is glowing(?) that is magic of some kind. Nymnar quickly identifies the gem and recognizes that it’s a gem connected to Silver that holds all of her memories. Nymnar asks her if she knows what this is, and she recognizes that the ring is hers and that the crystal is connected to her, then promises she didn’t steal it. Nymnar asks again if she knows what the crystal is, and she is trying not to admit that she doesn’t know. Nymnar asks if she wishes to know what it is, and she asks if it will ruin her life. She goes back and forth about if she does, then decides she does. Nymnar explains that the gem contains her memories and she thinks he’s joking at first. She realizes he’s being serious.

Achille comes up in the middle of this and he decides he doesn’t want to deal with it. Nymnar asks if Achille has one of these (pointing to the crystal). Achille asks what it is and Silver explains - the two have a very animated conversation about it and Achille is upset because he wants to forget. Achille decides to leave, vaguely upset, but Silver calls him back and asks if she wants her memory. He says he cannot answer that for her. She asks if he wishes he could forget, and he admits that sometimes, yes, he does wish he could forget.

Silver decides to remember and walks in to grab the crystal. Achille tells her to wait, then comments she’s rash, yeah, that makes sense. They have some back and forth where Silver tries to convince him to tell her what to do. He ultimately says to perhaps wait and ask some of the other party members their opinion. Silver asks Nymnar and Achille immediately backpedals and tries to suggest speaking to the entire group (not Nymnar), but Nymnar does concede that Achille is correct: there is no harm in waiting and the gem isn’t going to go anywhere. Furthermore, there is likely as much pain as much as revelation in her memories, and it might be overwhelming to receive it all at once (which Achille agrees with). Silver puts the gem back and then we leave the room, with the door disappearing. When we turn around, Achille is gone.

Nymnar goes to the poetry night in the evening.

Achille and Damaris

Achille physically runs into Damaris. She’s covered in blood and Achille freaks out because she’s covered in blood. She finally manages to explain she went to the training grounds and tried out her new bow, and Achille is still freaking out. She complains that it’s fine when he’s covered in blood but when she is it’s not fine? Achille comments that this is very unlike her.

She demonstrates her bow, shooting at the wall. The arrow splits midair and the arrows all head to the target, some of them slithering almost like snakes. She comments that it’s more brutal and powerful, which Achille agrees. He asks where she went, and she says somewhere that starts with an “M”.

Achille knows that the Mercy Killers used to be two factions that had merged (Sons of Mercy + Sod Killers) to become an extremely justice-focused group. They are not the police force (that’s the Harmonium, which they work with). They have eight tenants of justice and are very focused on justice being preserved. Some of them are still rather nice and believe in Mercy, but there are also others that relish killing those that defy justice. Achille knows that he was hunted by the Mercy Killers at some point in the past because he was a war lord, and they don’t currently know he’s in town at this time.

Achille is glad that her training went well and Damaris said she was coming back to take a shower. Achille comments that Silver needs her help and mentions the crystal, and Damaris is surprised. Achille got Damaris a present: a stone that is vaguely worry-stone shaped. When she feels uncomfortable or unhappy she will rub it and it’ll give her words of encouragement (in Achille’s voice). She hugs Achille tightly and thanks him and says she loves him.

He grabs her hand and starts walking inside.

Zimri

After the tattoo, he goes to find a quiet place where there aren’t any people that will hear him play his violin but depressed. The playing is beautiful. There are a lot of feelings he has about death in this, and he’s confused about seeing people as a general good thing but that has been challenged recently with a lot of people excited to see murder. The latter is a bit more on his mind at this time.

The melody mixes into Sigil. For a moment, the city grows quieter. People may not share in his pain, but there is a tacit understanding of it.

A voice comments that the playing is beautiful, and Zimri turns to see someone. He’s a large minotaur in a trench coat. Beneath the coat is red armor that Zimri recognizes as the Harmonium (the police). Zimri startles and his tail fur poofs out in surprise. The minotaur apologizes for startling him and Zimri says it’s no big deal. The minotaur comments that Zimri is one of the people he’s looking for and Zimri asks why they’re looking for us, and the minotaur says that he just has a few questions.

The minotaur says he feels this is important and he doesn’t want to jump Zimri - he asks if it’s okay if he and his partner ask Zimri and the rest of the party a few questions. Zimri asks if we’re in trouble, and the minotaur asks why he would say that. The minotaur explains that there’s an individual that’s been associating with the water plane and possibly earlier, and they just have some questions about the whereabouts of said individual. He point blank says we’ve been associating with a criminal. The partner in question is a short Githyanki Mercy Killer.

Zimri lies and says that he’s never met someone like that, and the minotaur’s eyes glow red and he comments that he knows when Zimri’s lying. The Githyanki woman gets excited about torture, and Zimri absolutely turns tail and runs. The minotaur stops the Githyanki from pursuing. The minotaur holds up a card and the woman throws a dagger and it embeds in the wall next to him. The card has the minotaur’s name, while the dagger has the Githyanki’s name on it. They allow Zimri to leave.

Minotaur: Measure (Investigator) Sagaris Raze Gityhanki: Justice Vaazto

Zimri runs until he’s back at the inn. He runs past Achille and Damaris, which makes them pursue to find out what’s wrong. They all make it to the room, where Silver is, though Nymnar is still at poetry night.

Zimri tries to explain what’s going on and the group calms him down and manages to get what happened to him out of him, and Zimri ultimately explains that the cops need to talk to us about Pyrisou. Achille starts to put his armor on as it occurs to him that the cops might be on the way here. Zimri says that they’ll come find us at some point. Zimri comments that the lady was wearing a different set of armor and was from another faction and Achille realizes what’s going on.

Achille blames himself for this: we never would have interacted with Pyrisou if not for him. Achille explains that not everyone recognizes attempts to grow and redeem themselves might be worth saving, and that he is possibly being hunted by the Mercy Killers. Zimri also comments that the minotaur knew when he was lying.

Silver asks if we grab Nymnar and try to leave immediately, or should we wait? Achille says that it’s not very viable to stay here and try to hide, and Zimri confirms that they know where we are. Silver asks if we can give them information and then leave, and Zimri suggests we hide Achille. There’s a handful of ideas that are all not good.

Silver goes to get Nymnar and finds Sagaris Raze sitting with Nymnar. Silver and Raze start a back and forth of veiled threats and the like, and Nymnar eventually interrupts and suggests we go to the room to get this over with. We head to the room and Silver knocks, announcing we have a guest.

The Interrogation

Raze enters and calls Vaazto in and Silver puts herself between Vaazto and Zimri. Achille asks if we are talking or fighting, and Raze says he’d prefer if we talked. Achille takes his helmet off, still holding his axe.

Raze begins by saying we were recently traveling with an ooze-like being named Pyrisou (Achille confirms). Raze asks what the relationship there was and Damaris says enemies. Achille says that’s not entirely wrong, and Damaris comments that he was swallowed by an orm, and she’s glad. Vaazto even calms down at that and comments it’s interesting.

Raze asks why were traveling with him for so long. Achille says that circumstances mandated that we had to. Silver says that he had the means to get us here and so it was a situation where we needed to keep him close to get here. There’s some back and forth where Damaris expresses how much she hated him and that we left him behind on the water plane in the orm.

Zimri is put on the spot about if we all hated Pyrisou and Zimri vaguely says that he had a troubled past.

Raze says that all he’s concerned about is if Pyrisou is here, and we’ve confirmed he isn’t. Pyrisou isn’t his problem until he steps foot into Sigil.

The two cops leave. Silver turned toward to Zimri and apologizes for trash talking Pyrisou. She explains that when you talk to the cops you do not side with the bad guy.

We rest for the night.
