The Party - Net
We wind up at a bar to party, and Sulfur manages to direct us to go to the one he needs to scout out with regards to a kidnapping he’s pursuing. The bar is a chill dive bar, with a decent crowd and a nice bartender. Emerick gets a beer, Sulfur gets a cherry coke, Ryne gets beer.
Charley orders a whiskey of some sort, and Alice starts strong with shots for everyone. Ri gets a margarita and Seo gets himself a beer as well. Powder gets some fruity mixed drink.
Crack Pipe and Net stayed behind to work on the car.
Alice grabs her shot and makes a toast to everyone, saying that she couldn’t be happier with the lot of us — things have been hectic, but we can still make night to celebrate and do it together despite the hell we put up with. She is beyond happy to be at a point to celebrate their first concert, and it actually be meaningful with the people around her. She thanks us for the memories, and hopes to make more in the future. We all take our shots after her. Ri says he fucks with us all and we’re amazing, and this has been great and some of the best times he’s had. Seo chimes in to say that there’s nothing he can add that the others haven’t said — it’s been some of the best time he’s had in a long time.
Charley teasingly says we’ve been sappy enough and we need to have fun. He pulls out a deck of cards so that we can play a few rounds of poker.
- First round - 20 start for 180 eddies
- Emerick wins rolling 27
- Second Round - 20 start for 160 eddies
- Ri won with a 19
- Third Round - 1000 start for 6000 + lever action rifle
- Saint won with a 26
- Fourth Round - 500 start for 3000 + grenade launcher
- Saint won with a 17
- Fifth Round - 2000 + lever action rifle + grenade launcher (3500 value)
- Total pot — lever action rifle + grenade launcher + bullets + 20000
- Powder wins! She gives Sulfur his items back 😊
Charley is pleased about the game. He orders himself another drink. Alice, Ri, and Charley are all on their third drink by now. Powder is on her second, Seo is finishing his first.
Charley speaks up and says that the first concert will tell him how long we’ll be working for Juice. If it goes horribly, we won’t work for him even a year — the soonest opportunity to drop him, he’ll take it. Alice speaks up and says she can’t say she is too keen staying with him at this point. Seo says we need to take it one day at a time. Ri awkwardly tries to break the tension and says that as long as he can party and have fun with us, he doesn’t care who they work for. Powder timidly says that it would be hard for her to leave, she is ready to do it as soon as it’s necessary.
At this point, Charley asks if anyone’s looking for a band. Seo says he hasn’t heard much in the way of fixers with the tension going on right now. It’s hard to gamble into this life, so a fixer may not want to put up that risk unless they have faith in the product they’re backing. Alice speaks up and has a few people she can reach out to and try to get ahold of someone.
Powder looks at us and asks if there’s anyone we would know. Emerick speaks up to say he might know someone and he’ll reach out to them. The band thanks him and various people pay him compliments for how much help he’s been, and Emerick is clearly embarrassed and tries to stop
10 points contacts → Emerick knows a guy that is a contact of moderate network of relevant connections.
Rolled 31 persuasion so we 100% have a replacement for Juice after the concert.
Alice asks what Sulfur’s story is, and he explains that he got disenfranchised with the old world, and he wound up here. Alice asks for more, and someone teases Sulfur for being bad at poker. Sulfur says go fish is more his speed, and someone teases him about war, to which Sulfur says his daughter always beat him at that one. Emerick asks about a daughter, and Sulfur closes right on up and says that she’s not important to this conversation.
Ryne comments, “another sob story,” and Charley gives shit on that.
Sulfur continues and explains that the cat he has - Jack - is to protect her. When Charley asked about Sulfur’s previous job, Sulfur lies through his teeth to explain he was a roadie, did some bodyguard work, etc. Charley comments that the roadie life treated him well, nodding toward the lever-action rifle, and Sulfur just says yeah, he’s done well for himself.
Emerick notices that his daughter isn’t here but the cat is, and the information and his previous jobs were a complete lie.
Sulfur asks Charley how long he’s been a rocker, and Charley says his entire life. He asks if Charley’s ever heard of the band Red Hop Up - he’s done work for them previously, and Charley confirms that he knows of them. He doesn’t trust them, but he’s heard of them. Alice speaks up and says she’s heard of them but doesn’t know much, and Ri and Seo haven’t heard of them before. Charley gets at that he wants to speak to Sulfur about them later when they’re alone - Sulfur’s part of the group now, so if he’s involved in people like that, he’s going to want to keep us all safe. Sulfur says he has some unsettled business with them, an unsettled debt. Charley offers their help.
Sulfur mentions that he needs to pick someone up and take them to a secluded location, and asks if we’d be able to help - hypothetically, of course. Sulfur needs to take care of a percussion savant, and Ri is in - hypothetically, of course. Ryne slams his hand down on the table and asks what is going on, and Sulfur says he doesn’t want all of this to be a racket. Ri and Sulfur are definitely convincing Ryne that they are just wanting to steal a drum set. 😁
Charley tells Ryne that there are larger things to be worried about, and then glances back to Sulfur and says that they can definitely help. Sulfur explains that Wednesday, Sept 13th, 2045 would be the best opportunity.
Sulfur asks who else would like to help with the try out, and Powder offers to drive, since those sets take a lot of space and could use some serious tying down.
Sulfur asks Ri to get the bartender on their side, which is done. Charley then offers a hand to make sure that everyone’s taken care of.
Alice and Seo say nothing with regards to this, with Seo breaking off from the conversation to order another drink. Emerick is more interested in interacting with Seo than dealing with this kidnapping conversation going no.
Alice glances at Powder and says they should see what’s on the jukebox. They flip flop between a couple of songs before they finally agree on one while the rest of the band mingles. Powder talks about the car and how it’s shaping up, and how she’s happy Net’s helping with it. She asks how Net’s been with us all. Saint gives a thumbs up, and Emerick says he’s been rather stressed. Powder is glad he can work on the car, and Emerick agrees, that it’s how he can find peace - as much as one can in Night City.
The Party + Net
Powder wonders if he has any other projects, and she calls him and demands he show up here at the bar. Net says he’ll be there in 15 minutes.
When Net arrives, Powder runs to him and drags him to the table. She wants to know what Net wants to drink, and he orders the watered down beer. He does his best to relax, and Powder talks to him - she starts off by asking if he has any projects. He explains his car, but most of his projects are for work. He just installed a machine gun to the front of his car. Emerick is surprised that’s possible, and asks how, and Net infodumps for like 10 minutes about it, with which Emerick and Powder are entirely engaged in the conversation.
Powder asks what’s next, and Net says he would love to put some armored plating on it - he doesn’t want to go too far and get too enraptured in it. Powder suggests making it a killdozer. There’s a lot of discussion and back and forth about the killdozer, which Net eventually scraps.
Alice asks if we have anything planned for the rest of the week. Emerick asks what she has in mind, and Alice says that she has something she might want, but it might be too early. Powder asks Emerick what’s going on after the concert, and he explains that the invention fair is on the 22nd, the Friday after the concert. He gives her all of the information she needs for it - the cost of entry, who to contact, and etc.
As the night continues, Alice does karaoke. She makes a fool of herself, Ri makes a fool of himself, there’s a bar fight that breaks out. Charley gets far too drunk, and we get kicked out of the bar.
Sulfur
Sulfur goes home and notes down what he learned about the bar and speaks to the cat, Jack. He talks about how it’s about time to get his revenge, then gets self-aware about how he needs to stop talking to the cat.
Net
He goes back with Powder to the warehouse and find Crack Pipe in the kitchen making coffee. He asks if they want some coffee, and they both accept.
Ryne
Ogre comes out to help carry Charley inside, taking him upstairs and tossing him into his room. He’s far too out of it to really give a shit what’s going on. Juice comes out and looks to Ryne, commenting that he shouldn’t worry, Juice already knows what’s happened.
He asks (commands) Ryne to go on Wednesday, then tells him to make sure that everyone going doesn’t get out of hand. He gives Ryne a taser in case anyone gets too rowdy.
Juice goes into his office and calls Ri in, wanting to let Ri know that he cares and he wants to take care of him. Juice gives Ri some of the city center cocaine that he’s fond of, which Ri is super into it. As Ri turns to leave, Juice reminds Ri not to forget who’s taking care of him. Ri stops and shyly looks over his shoulder, saying he understands, and thanks Juice before leaving to his room.
Emerick
Emerick returns to the warehouse with Seo and the two go to their respective rooms.
Saint
Returns to his own home to retire for the evening.

Emerick
Emerick reaches out to the contact he has with regards to the band, putting feelers out so that there’s someone at the concert watching him.
Ida Mueller reaches out about the invention fair. She noticed that Emerick was on the list, and she wanted to show her appreciation for everything he’s done, and she wanted to extend a more beneficial experience to him so that he has a better understanding of everything going on. If he’s interested, she can make him her personal reporter for the invention.
He’s thrown totally off-guard by the offer, and he is stunned silent for a moment. He finally speaks up and agrees to the deal, saying he’d love the opportunity.
She sends over 10k for help with equipment, then a contract for being her personal reporter for the event. It’s only tied to the invention fair. The terms are straightforward and simple - there’s a dresscode to abide by, he has to act with a certain character, he’s there to work with her rather than against her. Compensation is also outlined in it, along with a base compensation for him just being there and existing.
Mechanically I’ll roll various checks to determine compensation afterwards.
Sometime during the day, Seo does admit that he’s worried about Ri. Not long after Seo says that, Ri comes out and is really reserved and jittery. It’s clear he’s on something, and he has something else on his mind as well.
Once he’s gone, Seo speaks up and says that he feels the need to go along with the “drum set pickup” to make sure Ri is okay. Emerick offers to go in his stead, and Seo says that he can’t ask Emerick to babysit his brother. Emerick says he will go along to help make it easier, then.
Net
At some point, Powder mentions the mission for Sulfur and says Net should show off the car. Net agrees.
🌟The entire party is going on this mission yipeee

Pre-Mission
Sulfur invites us all to his apartment to plan this heist. Charley lays into Sulfur about how well Sulfur must have done for himself as a roadie - it’s clear that Charley’s seen through Sulfur entirely. We all are looking at the coffee table map that Sulfur has put together. Charley explains that we have to kidnap the drummer for another band.
Sulfur explains: he needs to transport this drummer to the badlands to ask him some questions, don’t worry about what questions they are. We will go to the bar and get that guy out of there. We drag him into the alleyway, stuff him into the van, and drive him to the badlands.
Net asks what kind of backing they have, and Charley explains there’s no real backing behind them. They’re more of just a chaotic factor in the music industry, just wanting to piss people off. They’re not making big splashes in the world. The band will probably look for him, but if we go to the badlands then nobody is going to pay any attention to us.

Sulfur confirms that Net has a radio communicator and tells him where to tune in, with Emerick joining in on that action. Ri explains that he bribed the band manager so that nobody is going to look for this guy, no charges will be pressed.
We review the plan and Sulfur explains it’s 1.5 hours until the interview.

Kidnapping Start
We all head out in our respective vans to get to the bar in time for the interview. When we get there, Ri looks a little jittery. He does a line before getting in the van. Sulfur tags Ri out of the mission, and Ri starts to get defensive. Sulfur pulls Ri to the side and explains that Ri needs to tag out, and Ri argues saying that Sulfur doesn’t know him, or how he operates. Ryne diffuses the situation by pulling Ri into the decoy van saying that Ri will keep his back. Emerick notices this, and suggests that Saint swap to the real van in case the kidnapped guy needs any help.

We make it to the bar and park our vans where we need. We all take a moment to confirm the plan, then the appropriate people go inside to grab this guy.
Inside team:
- Charley
- Ri
- Sulfur
- Ryne
The drummer is inside by the table he was to be at, with the person he’s interviewing. There’s about half a dozen fans there as well, all excited to be next to him. Nobody is hiding their weapons - all of the fans have a shotgun or some sort of melee weapon or pistol on them. If the others are packing, they’re not showing it.
Sulfur goes over the plan, and Ryne grips Sulfur’s shoulder a little too hard. Ryne explains that Charley and Ri absolutely cannot get hurt in this. Sulfur asks what Ryne’s distraction would be, if a fire is not acceptable. The fans begin to disperse and most of them leave, except for two with pistols, that go to the bar.
Things wind up in a Mexican stand-off while Ryne grapples the drummer and the fans at the bar notice.
