Session Start
We enter the wasteland and it is cooler inside than it is out. The blue is not ice and it also may not be sand, but our minds definitely perceive it as sand. As we look around we see that some of the scholars that entered with us are no longer here. There’s some back and forth discussion with Bular and the party where Bular offers to share water and we all agree that probably Izoraxx’s people won’t enter the wasteland.
Bular explains that leaving the wasteland is very easy and that if you have great need then you can step out of the wasteland - it’s why he’s not particularly worried about the missing members. Bular believes that Rasmussin will be around for a few days so his plans are to stay here for a week or so and see how it treats him. We share a meal and then begin following the direction that Bular’s people saw someone.
They set off and Bosch sings songs to keep things interesting. Faylen uses magic to vaguely track where the Witch may be, while Mary helps with moving through the desert and Tabby keeps an eye open (and doesn’t see much). Tabby and Bosch both notice someone on a dune while Mary and Faylen see nobody. Bosch comments that they should go say hi. We head that way and Mary and Faylen do notice two humanoid shapes as we get closer and move up the dune.
One shape looks to be on the ground reaching its hand up into the other shape while the other is suspended in the air mid attack. There is a vision just frozen in the air there. Bosch greets them once we hit conversational range and nothing responds when he talks to them. When they don’t respond, Bosch invades their personal space and asks if either wishes to join us.
Bosch feels his consciousness go somewhere else and he hears sounds and sees lights moving and smells something before he is suddenly back. Bosch explains what he saw in what is the most confusing way possible.
Faylen looks over the phenomenon and he can tell that this is an echo of the past sometime, and it didn’t happen here. The wasteland might have brought this to us as it may have relevance to the party. Faylen comments that we should try to speak to only one but not both of them, and Tabby suggests we speak tot he one being attacked rather than the attacker.
We suddenly show up wherever the being is and we stand on a metal surface. We see what is happening more clearly: the mid-air being is wielding a blade of some sort. The attacker wears a mask that seems familiar even though we do not recognize it. The attacked is a construct but is created in such a complex manner that it’s hard to imagine how it might be constructed.
The attacked is fighting against Cain (sp) and is amazed that we’ve met him before. The stranger explains that he’s about to be killed and that
He explains that the Dark Demesne has corrupted people for centuries and has a foothold on the plane. They’ve been fighting for centuries and have been losing this war. His name is XAM, series O-R. He hopes that we can manage to stop the Dark Demesne before this future becomes true for us.
The Witch
Bosch rolls down the dune after eating some of the sand and finding it disgusting as he tastes the echo of the Dark Demesne and he wanders and finds a woman in a full beach getup. He stands and bangs his head on a table. Bosch introduces himself and Bean and everyone else catches up to the conversation. Bosch comments she seems very comfy and she comments that she’s been resting.
Bosch says he doesn’t wish to disturb her and that we are looking for the wild witch of the wastes. She explains that she is it and Bosch continues and ultimately introduces all of us. We figure out that she lives unbound by time and she momentarily confuses us all, but we ultimately get to the point that Faylen explains that we need Axamonar to be fixed. She says she can help us but she has to send us to where she first met us. We agree and show up in a metal box.
There is a younger Edeis and we have a very, very confused conversation before we manage to calm her down and Tabby explains that we are on her side and we need her help. Faylen explains that we have a soul crystal of a friend that needs to be repaired. She looks it over and comments that this is old but also brand new, and she fixes it in a few minutes.
During all of this, Bosch has disappeared. Edeis realizes that she sent us forward in time with no instruction on how to get back, and we all resolve to figure out how to get us sent back after we find Bosch. Bean shows up to give directions and we peek out and find a crashed car and a cop dragging Bosch away to jail.
