Last Time on Dragon Ball Z
We’re at the warehouse, we need to rescue Leviathan, let’s gooooooooooOO!
Net was detained by the police after acting like a homeless guy as a distraction for us to get into the location that Leviathan is being held in.

The Party: Upstairs
We begin to look around and there’s nothing really on the upper level. Emerick and Phoenix are busy looking through the papers on desks and the computers. There are clocks glitching out all over the place on the wall with no actual time shown.
Saint and Sulfur look over the corpses scattered about the first floor and it’s clear that they all died via a gunshot at the back of the head. Saint and Sulfur confirm this and Sulfur isn’t sure if it’s a ready room or a doomsday cult or something like that. They both continue to review and figure out that they’re all staff members. Sulfur rolls one body over and sees a logo on it: a digital font that is in lines and dots to make a symbol. The symbol ultimately makes an B with some additional details around it to distort it. It’s something obscure, not really known outside of Russia.
Sulfur has been to Russia and recognizes the logo. The logo is for the company вознесение (English: Ascension). Sulfur didn’t deal too much with them but he recalls them from some old Soviet archives, they’re kind of like their boogeyman. It doesn’t really rule out a cult. Alice peeks her head around and says that Juice is not someone who’s superstitious, so a cult doesn’t make sense, but maybe their operations are cult-adjacent? She just never really got the religious vibe from him.
Sulfur found a red keycard, and Saint finds a green keycard.
There’s a little more back and forth about that and the fact that the stairs are barricaded is mentioned. Sulfur does comment that they had tried to destroy this place and then something was barricaded downstairs
The Party: Managerial Offices & Staff Area
We head downstairs and find a door that requires a blue keycard. We move on to another door and swipe the red keycard. We swipe the card and it starts to open then stops, then slowly starts to open. It takes a full minute to open. As we enter this area, the lights are flickering, with spots of pitch blackness. Emerick pulls his flashlight out and they start to move through this area.
This lower area is clearly offices where the staff mostly existed. We do find a clock with 10 minutes stuck on it, frozen.
There are more bodies in this area, all killed with a bullet to the back of the head just like upstairs.
Manager Office
There is one office locked by a keycard: the green one opens this one. There’s a gentleman in here that’s dead. His computer is on, the monitor works, and his computer password is typed into the prompt, but never hit enter. He had killed himself as shown by the bullet wound at the bottom of his head and a pistol still in his hand. Sulfur takes the pistol after checking how much ammunition is in it.
Emerick comes around and hits enter on the keyboard and the machine unlocks immediately. There’s data on this - a handful of different programs and stuff. He knows enough Russian to stumble through the machine and I plug in a flash drive to grab all of what looks important - 15 minute time. He then turns to search the man and finds an Agent - clearly a Russian agent made by some Russian company and different from normal agents he’s seen.
Emerick has gained:
- Important looking Russian dude’s Agent
- Pending flash drive with data
- Yellow keycard (handed to Sulfur)
Saint looks around and there’s papers all over the place. Most things are in Russian, but there are a few things in English. What are in English are progress reports and quotas and orders being passed down that need to be translated for certain staff. The main thing that these documents are referring to are project Leviathan, which seems to be a netrunning program that is meant to be an army of netrunners scraping the NET for their own gains. This was an experimental facility to help these netrunners become something better than themselves - to ascend, per se. Main netrunners and some other persons of interests. There’s some testing to put certain citizens into stress to test things, extreme physical tests, etc - anything they could get away with doing, they did. The goal was to break people down and build them back up.
All the paper documents were given over to Phoenix. Two email chains stick out to Emerick:
- Saša (Саша)
- Anton (Антон)
The conversations are more or less in the same vein as what’s going on.
Security Office
We leave the office and look around the rest of the office area. There is one closed off office that does open with the green card and it appears to be a security room. There were two security guards that were in here, dead by execution. They both have SMGs and backup pistols. Many of the camera feeds are no longer functioning, but there are a handful that are still live - mainly most of the feeds outdoors. If there were any survivors, they would have seen us come in. There is at least one camera on the first floor, none for this floor, and whatever else seems to be live has no light.
There is nothing of import on the security computers, but the security officers do have a blue keycard. It’s about now that we recognize that there’s no exit wound (as in, a bullet didn’t go through their head): an internal device had detonated to kill everyone here.
The Holding Room
We leave the security office with SMGs and pistols with tactical lights so that Emerick isn’t the only one with a flash light. There’s a door that leads down and then a door across the way. The stairwell is dark, and the door across from us is locked with no key card. When we peek into the door it seems to be a holding cell.
Alice punches the dead bolt on the door and Emerick hesitates to get behind Sulfur in case there’s anything hostile on the other side. He flashes the flash light inside and we all cautiously enter the room to look inside. There’s a series of four hospital beds on the right side. Two of the beds have a body on them, and a dozen bodies on the floor besides. The people that were in here were fighting to not be killed.
A staff member was clearly killed by the fighting and it’s clear everyone died in a different way. There is a reception desk at the far end of the room and an office room behind it - this seems to be a secondary intake and assessment area.
Whatever was in here went wrong.
Emerick is looking up as we move through and he finally notices a body in the ceiling. Saint pulls the body down and there’s a heavy metallic thud - a Maelstrom body. The sound causes a body on one of the beds jump. They’re confused and asks what’s going on and there’s confusion. Sulfur gives fake names and the person in the bed introduces himself as Ronnie.
Ronnie gets up and stretches after some nervous back and forth. He explains that all he was trying to do was come here to get some help. He met a guy - some Russian - in the combat zone that said he could help this guy. Ronnie was down on his luck and he could have some work and be part of something, but he has no clue how he got here. When he was brought here, he was assessed and he admits that he has a lot of drugs in his system and he can’t shake it… He really likes being high, you know? His withdrawals were apparently too much, so he was put under, and then he woke.
We discuss back and forth and Phoenix pays him to describe who brought him here and it was Juice. Of course it was Juice. While there’s this back and forth, Saint looked him over and there’s nothing that he could necessarily see: he definitely is a drug addict, but otherwise he’s just hungry and thirsty. He leaves.
We go into the office and there’s mostly just intake forms. Emerick sifts through them and gets curious and starts to go back a while, skimming everything, knowing it has to be here. For the best that his memory can remember, he goes back to when he and the OG crew should have been admitted here, and none of our papers are in here. It’s clear that Emerick grows more agitated and Saint asks what’s wrong. Emerick eventually responds that he’s looking for certain paperwork, and when Phoenix asks, he comments that Torrent should have paperwork. Phoenix comments that perhaps Juice snuck certain people in, and that seems to bother Emerick more.
We go back to the office and get the flash drive from the managerial computer. As we are leaving, Phoenix gives Emerick a pill in case things grow too difficult, and she says it will let him sleep. She will absolutely ensure his safety and get him out if need be. He thanks her and pockets it.
The Basement
We go down 3 flights of stairs before we enter a small hallway. The room on the left in the hall appears to be a workout facility of some kind - treadmills, benches, etc. There are a few people in there - staff and test subjects - all presumed dead. There’s another door with cryosystems inside, where there may be some people still inside. There’s also an experimentation room.
We start with the cryosystems. One system is no longer functional and it seems the person inside is now dead, and the system had just failed. The other two are still currently running. Saint, Phoenix, and Alice are in here.
Sulfur and Emerick go into the workout room and notice that there is a boxing robot that is currently hooked up and charging in the corner. It does seem to be functional, meant to be for sparring. Very experimental. Its gloves are currently bloodied, and a subject on the mat that looks to have no head - currently paste.
We find a terminal that looks to control the robot and Emerick clumsily looks it over and eventually manages to turn off the robot. Sulfur wonders if we can take it, and Emerick says that we could certainly try on the way out, Net would love something like that.
Sulfur and Emerick go through and find a breaker box and flip the switch, restoring power to the facility.
Because of this, the cryopods open and a 6th Street Gang member and Tyger Claw member fall out of their pods and start to wake. They manage to get up, but are very out of it. The Tyger Claw looks over at us all and we see his arms open up and mantis blades pull out.
Net
Net was held overnight to simply sleep off whatever was making him act weird, and then released him the next morning at like 7am.
