Back to the Ship & Surgery

We make it back to the ship to help Destroyer and Dr. Cecily SĂżtz says that everyone needs to leave. Everyone and Mary starts to turn to leave and Dr. SĂżtz asks that Mary stay as she is a good physician (not as good as her, of course). Dr. SĂżtz allows the rest of the adventuring party to stick around and watch if we would like.

We return to the fire kobolds to get the parts forged, and Mary explains that she would like for the kobolds to actually forge, while we tell them what it should look like. This is done without issue and the organs are put into a special chest to carry back to the ship.

During the surgery Mary and Dr. Sÿtz work in concert with each other while Faylen reads the manual to help them stay on track. Akker tries a couple of times to figure out what organs he can steal to make fun explosions or otherwise, trying to grab the manual when Faylen leaves it unattended at one point. He’s a bit bored and just looking for some fun, but when Mary stops him, he gives up and leaves.

Tabby is here as well, helping to stop Akker’s attempts, while Bosch starts here, and then leaves as this drags on quite some time.

Bosch took the hammer he got earlier along with some chisels and wedges and chisels some art into the trees of the forest.

After the surgery, Falyen and Dr. Sÿtz both take notes from the blueprints for Destroyer. Dr. Sÿtz does ultimately agree that giving the blueprints to Destroyer so that he can get medical help in the future. Destroyer is grateful for our help. We give Destroyer the blueprints once we’re all done taking notes, and Destroyer keeps them safe inside of his body in a compartment.

Uncomfortably close, Widald comments that letting Akker taking things is bad, but he doesn’t understand why we don’t just stab him to stop him from acting. Bosch asks if it’s worked and he says no, and Bosch says that’s the answer. Tabby comments you can’t solve everything by stabbing. Widald tries very hard to try to understand why we do what we do and Tabby explains that we do combat to protect those that cannot protect themselves, and Widald is confused that we don’t charge money. He wants to copy Tabby to become a better warrior.

Indracht Krell is very grateful we helped Destroyer. He admits that he already thanked Dr. Sÿtz and admits that he needed to sign something so that she can write something. He says that he’ll sign something if need be, but he’s not sure if druids even have periodicals.

Mary ushers us all to rest and Salaavethor comments that he doesn’t understand the obsession with breathing fire. Mary comments that it’s one of those things we can’t do, so someone wants it because they don’t have it. Sal considers this and thinks perhaps, and comments that he doesn’t breathe fire himself. The conversation does drift to where Sal makes the comment that trouble is our business and we are likely to run into it, then realizes what he’s saying is sounding rather ominous. Sal makes a comment that he hopes that we think of him as more a friend than a nuisance, and then retreats to leave somewhere else.

Wildald & Tabby

Widald goes to Tabby and asks why he helps people, basically. Widald explains that he’s the supreme being - not an immortal (yet) - and everyone else is beneath him. He considers Tabby on his level, and has even defeated him (he doesn’t think about it). Widald comments that everyone is weird for except for him, and Tabby says that it’s not normal to view things the way Widald does. Tabby says that if he wants to be the best, then fine, be a warrior. Widald admits that he worries Tabby is telling him about this friendship stuff but is doing something else that he can’t see. Tabby assures him that this is certainly not the case.

Widald comments that he will defeat everyone and then become the immortal of murder. Tabby asks if he understands immortality might suck, and Widald says no - he’ll be the center of the universe, and everyone will know he’s correct.

Widald doesn’t understand how Tabby bested him because Tabby was distracted by other people, and he doesn’t understand why Tabby bothered to interfere because he was attacking others, not Tabby himself. He gets frustrated and leaves, and Tabby expresses his frustration about how he doesn’t understand and how he’s never going to understand and will always be a danger to others.

Tabby thinks that the only way he can turn him around is if something like the Dark Demesne shows up, but he’s not entirely certain. It’s hard to make him understand that other people matter.

Convo with Akker

Akker butts in and another conversation ensues where he admits that he doesn’t want to actively kill us. There’s obviously going to be a conflict at some point, but he has no real desire to actually kill us outside of the job. Bosch asks how the skull throne is going, and Akker says you’d think it’d be better, but skull thrones are rather brittle when he tries to sit on them. Akker doesn’t wanna help him make a throne of skulls.

Bosch comments that Akker probably didn’t ask Akker for any help on how to better construct, and Akker confirms. He does comment that he’s even offered suggestions. Bosch says that there are far better uses for skulls, such as a halloween costume with glowy eyes or something.

Mary

Mary does take time to rest and also checks in on Destroyer and Blackbeam. Blackbeam is doing great: he only works 8 hours and is paid in real money and everything.

She was interested in looking for a druid that can help Blackbeam learn how to be a druid given he can speak to some creatures (I think I was gone?). Indracth has mentioned that there are likely druids nearby that are not in official documents, and he will need to discuss with them as growing a city over night is likely going to upset them.

It’s unknown if there is a full circle up there, but there are some beautiful mountains up there. She is aware that they may be a little more feral than she expects, not another Joe Bullheart situation.

The Entire Party

We are all sitting together eating. Wildald sits with us and is back to being creepy, eating exactly when Tabby does, to be creepy.

As we are eating, a beautiful green dragonfly flies in and sits directly before Tabby. The insect unfurls into a beautiful ornate note, saying we are invited to a fae ball, and we are going to be attending now. As Tabby reads it the note is narrated, and everyone at the table - including Widald - is teleported.

The First World

We arrive and the master of the hunt - the fae we met a while ago - is here. He greets Tabby and comments that while this is not his ball, we are invited to participate. He explains that the host has an unusual idea, but we shall learn all in good time. There are some other mortals about - people we may or may not recognize. He felt that having Tabby and his friends in his corner will be most advantageous.

The ball is celebrating the upcoming death of the host. He will be dead by the end of the ball, and nobody knows how.

The leader is called Arbiter Elegantiarum (not that this is his actual name), he is the master of refinements. He decided that his death will be this way.
