Bosch

Bosch was arrested and is currently being processed for goal. He gives a fake name and the guy processing him believes it and then asks if he understands that this was very reckless and dangerous. He is surprised he she’s not angrier than he is, and begins apologizing for damaging someone’s property and endangering those around him. He’s listening as he continues.

He overplays it and she comments that he’s heard of those kinds of people - those that cosplay the old noteworthy people. He comments that he could use more work on his Akker outfit and that this isn’t the time to really be playing around: we are currently at war and the Dark Demesne could attack at any time. Bosch plays it up and says he thought he could play into the legend, you know. Bosch admits he’s not Akker or Zakker, he’s actually named Brix (something, I missed it šŸ˜–) and the processor comments that this isn’t look great, and Bosch agrees.

The processor isn’t sure if he should put Bosch in jail, or conscript him into the military service. Bosch asks if it’s so wrong to look up to someone as a hero and the processor says that you shouldn’t look up to villains. Bosch realizes he can’t talk his way out of this and then he gets put into jail.

Bosch is sharing a cell with an orc that is dressed exactly like Tabby. He explains that he has a good salary and that’s how he got such a nice outfit - he’s a programmer. Bosch gets some heat for his outfit not being so good and the orc lays off and decides to stop being mean. Bosch comments that he was dressed up as Akker and that he was trying to play the part - crashing something - and the orc understands. The orc discourages Bosch from enlisting in the military. The orc lives in a state of denial thinking that surely the Dark Demesne is not going to take everything over, and they’ve been around for forever - will they suddenly advance out of nowhere?

Mary, Tabby, Faylen

The witch Edeis is with us as we watch and she asks what we do. Mary and Tabby comment that this isn’t the most uncommon thing and that he can have a wild streak when he’s bored. Edeis comments that she has no idea what to do - fifteen minutes ago she was living her life and now she knows time travel is real and she fixed and old, old, stone.

Edeis asks if we want to change clothes so we don’t look strange, and we ultimately decide not to because there is a festival going on right now - we will be considered annoyances, but nothing more. We discuss how the goal is to stop this future from happening. She decides to go to do some research on the magic desert and then she gives a phone to Faylen so that he can contact her if needed, then leaves while we go to try to get Bosch out.

Tabby takes the lead and talks to the processing officer and Tabby manages to convince him to escalate this question so we can talk to his superior. The boss is a large four-armed guy with grey skin and huge tusks. He’s not impressed by us and says that he will be very unhappy if we try to bribe him. Tabby manages to talk through to him to convince him that we might be able to keep an eye on Bosch and the cop asks if Tabby is any good with the weapon, and Tabby says he has some training. He says he’ll see what he can do and then he gives us visiting hours.

We are taken into the visiting room and Bosch comes out. Bosch says he’s doing okay. Bosch says that there are other reenactors with him shares their names and who they were dressed up with. There’s a small interaction between Tabby and the Tabby reenactor and then Mary explains that Edeis is currently studying. Tabby says that there is impending doom hanging over our heads and we’d appreciate it if Bosch learns his lesson sooner rather than later. Bosch comments that he’s supposed to be in here for three days and that they were telling him not to act like Akker and to not idolize him. Tabby suggests that he could maybe look into Bosch, which Bosch calls it a deep pull, then glances to the stranger and asks if he’s heard of Bosch.

The orc says that it’s a deep pull and Bosch asks if Bosch is the heroic version of Akker, which the orc says it’s a deep pull and he wouldn’t go so far as to call Bosch the heroic version of Akker. He backs up to say that there’s not much information of the time so the information of the heroes/villains is a lot of speculation.

Sarge comes in and sees us all sitting there. He says that they’re swamped, there’s not enough people and trouble is brewing. Bosch turns and tells Sarge he was supposed to ask nicely and then asks if Sarge will let him go. Sarge asks if we can help clean up the city, and Mary says that we can sure try. Sarge asks if she’s a druid, and when she confirms, he says that she’s his favorite of the entire group.

Sarge says if we help him, he’ll let Bosch go. We agree and he goes to get things arranged.

There is a large tree-like bipedal creature that is next to Mary and he turns to comment that she is a druid. He says that there aren’t many left here, and she comments that she’s noticed and there isn’t much in the way of nature. The person says that he works for the druids and he turned himeslf into this to better protect nature, though there isn’t much nature left - Mary admits that is what she wants to fix. He says there isn’t much to fix, and he says he got very upset when he heard about the last garden and that is why he is here. He doesn’t know what has to change to fix things. Tabby comments that he thinks there’s a way to defeat this, and we will try.

Sarge comes back with a too-cheery robot that will monitor us. Mary asks what we need to do and he says that there are some creatures that need to be dealt with, but he has no more details. Bosch asks why he’s sending a bunch of cosplayers and Sarge comments that he knows the difference between fake weapons and real steel. Sarge hopes that we will manage to take care of the problem, but if it doesn’t work out, that solves another issue.

The Quest

We get into an elevator and this is a multi-layered city. There’s systems to create simulated day/night cycles and whatnot. We go down to a lower level that is absolutely revolting and we momentarily think that Sarge was being more literal about cleaning up the streets. We make it to the level we are to work on and we look around. We glance up and see a shape in the air and see it trying to sneak up on us. The creature is a drake of some sort.

Tabby gets his crossbow out and keeps an eye open in case it comes down to us. We realize that the stench of trash is at least partially coming from the drake as it flies down to us. It greets us, asking us who we are supposed to be. He says that we are going to die, everyone on this station will die: the immortal Kain is coming for us. Bosch says that our job right now is to make the drake go away, and asks if the drake will go ahead and go.

The drake says he doesn’t wish to, but he’s hungry and interested. Something else is also approaching. Tabby aims his crossbow and says: ā€œYou’re hungry? How about you taste death!ā€ Combat begins.
