We manage to finally destroy the amalgamates and then render Zurso’o unconscious. Mary goes ahead and cleans Talitha’s claws after she had clawed the amalgamates and their diseased parts. Mary explains what’s going on and what she saw below.
Faylen goes into the office and finds paperwork showing that this gentleman is an operator for Breakwater Company that intimidates people, but this was his own little operation he did on his own. The parts did not come to Breakwater: they do not care for people enough to supply replacement parts. The parts were not manufactured here, however. Tabby asks who sells body parts and Faylen shrugs. We need to either ask Zurso’o where he got the parts, or Bosch mentions we can ask Dr. Cecily Sÿtz.
She thanks us for saving her town, then asks how we beat her back to the city. Mary attempts to explain and Faylen ultimately says Akker. That makes complete sense to her. Tabby comments that it’s an explanation, but it makes no sense.
Dr. Sÿtz reviews the corpses and parts and realizes that she recognizes the shoddy work. She grows excited as she knows who’s it is and she’ll be able to commit acts of violence after all!
