I missed Sessions 54 and 55.
Crashing the Party
Beitris and Faylen have been running interference through the party. Zeth Seegmiller is here, of course, given it’s his party. He clearly doesn’t want to be the center of attention here despite it being his party. He’s pretty hard to read to begin with, but something about him is off - he’s very flat, per se. He seems to be making calculations about everything at all times. He’s dressed well, but his suit has no personality: it was something someone picked out for him.
Beitris starts double fisting the champagne at some point, and Faylen tells her to slow down. She starts to feel woozy and sits down and holds her head. Faylen realizes that there was something in the champagne. She’s too woozy to actually fight with us.
Seegmiller moves and there’s something wrong about it — it takes him a moment too long, and Faylen realizes someone moves like Zerch and soon reveals himself as Vurg Zilardo, demanding to know where Zeth is. Faylen happens to make direct eye contact with Zeth and, stonefaced, he crushes a crystal in his hand to teleport away. Zerch ignores the party and starts to go to where Zeth likely went.
Vurg explains that Kincaid gave them a new lease on life, yet Bosch destroyed his brother. Mary and Tabby crash through a window as the excitement begins, and Faylen teases Beitris for missing the fun after having drank too much.
Combat Begins.
- Vurg Zilardo
- AC: around 20
- Notes
- Swipes can paralyze (FORT save)
- Ghoul Soldier
- Rat Swarm
- Resist all physical but bludgeoning
During combat, Vurg starts killing civilians, demanding to know where Zeth is. Combat is not terribly long as the group takes down the ghoul goons and Vurg. Bosch ultimately delivers Vurg to his second death with the corpse of one of the ghoul goons he killed as a weapon.
Mary treats Faylen’s wounds and now that the fight is over those that are drugged start stirring and getting up. Beitris gets up and stumbles over, hanging all over Faylen to steady herself. The people around us are applauding us for saving them, and Torchy comes over and explains that she needs quotes from us for the story, and she’s going to try to drag Zeth’s reputation through the mud. Torchy asks if we think it’s Kincaid, and Bosch says he definitely thinks it’s Kincaid. She asks if Vurg knew Bosch, and Bosch says yes, and explains that he knew the Zilardos when they were alive.
As we are gathering ourselves after the fight, The Agent - Ephiny, Agent Bryce, now Zan Tobler - appears. She explains the party is over and encourages people to leave. She makes direct eye contact with Bosch, and Mary stiffens at her appearance. Zan doesn’t say anything but seems to be making gestures with her eyes at Bosch. Bosch explains we can’t fight her right now, we have to go do something else that’s boring first.
Beitris offers to get us all dinner (after we all get cleaned up, of course).
Bosch is aware that there’s some mind control contract that she got for failing the last mission and we likely won’t be fighting her anymore because she’s going to skip town. There is a contract on her in the magic vault and if we burn it she’ll be free, along with perhaps Mr. Scab — the chief of security for Zeth, but was previously a union man.
Bosch recovered a book with numbers to find the magical vault and steal Zeth’s piece of the Seal of Infinity. We will be having a heist.
