Blaustein’s Castle

Corwin Crowther demands to be let into the castle and Trouble runs between his legs to run inside. The castle is roughly hewn from dark stone, with some pirate elements added. Inside of the hall are statues with their heads removed. Corwin attempts to run into the and Serina tries to catch him, but Corwin slips just past her and into the castle. Trouble comments on the decapitation, saying that someone didn’t like the decoration of whoever it was, and did it to assert some sort of dominance - maybe. Trouble notices a man standing perfectly still next to the statues, whom they poke.

The man is a little kooky, saying he was hiding as a scary little joke. We don’t think that he’s scary, and he explains that we were not expected, though the other guy (Corwin) was expected on some level. Corwin cries out in pain and we all start to sprint after him. We find him with his leg stuck in a trap and we check for traps around us.

Trouble looks around and can tell that there’s some magical fuckery here: the traps seem to be moving (the guard feigns surprise), but there are currently no traps here. Arkuda pries the trap open and Arseid drags Corwin out of the trap. Atheya tends to his wound and then we have some miscellaneous conversation.

Serina eventually loses her patience with the manservant and threatens him with her sword and shoved him against the wall. He explains that Corwin’s sister is one of the last wives of Bluebeard, and that she is dead, but doing very well for herself considering the wives control the castle at this point. The manservant explains that Pietra van Riese occasionally visits - more often now that the wives run the castle - but it’s been a while. Pietra’s people are also here, and Serina asks where they are. He mentions that he was going to rat us out to them, but he tells us that there are some in a cove.

We escort Corwin out of the castle, then have the manservant - we learn his name is Conomor - show us where the cove is. Serina lets him go and he runs back to the castle, and not long after we see three crows leave the castle and fly in the direction we are.

The Cove

Serina is dreading something as we continue down the road to the cove. There is a draugr and three ghost eels. The draugr points at us and combat begins.

Combat ends and Atheya patches up Arkuda and Arseid. She checks Arseid over as she was cursed during the fight, and she recalls that this is the mariner’s curse - we will need a cleanse affliction or a similar spell. Atheyya also knows that the drauger can be buried in a calm sea to end the curse.
