The Loot

Killian finds an accursed staff. Yuna finds grab gloves. Ria gets handwraps with crushing runes applied (handwraps of mighty blows). Opal finds a cloak of illumination, and Valentine finds a sentient sword.

The sword speaks to Valentine and he picks it up. It asks what they will do, and Valentine comments that he isn’t sure and this is a little strange, as swords don’t normally talk. The sword says there are enough talking weapons that they have their own god, even. The sword has forgotten its own name.

Opal overhears Valentine talking to the sword, and Opal asks what’s going on. Valentine says that he’s just talking to the sword. The sword tells Valentine it’s okay to let everyone know he talks, and he isn’t going to try to turn Valentine away from his friends. Valentine says the sword is cool and not to worry about it. Opal asks if he talks to his weapons, and Valentine simply asks he doesn’t? Opal explains he doesn’t use weapons and the two of them have a little back and forth about weapons.

Valentine allows Opal to physically view the sword when Opal asks to look for it. Opal can tell the sword is magical, perhaps cursed? Opal says that he hopes it doesn’t corrupt Valentine’s heart, and Valentine is a little confused about it. The sword reassures once again that it’s not cursed. Valentine does give the sword over to Opal, and the sword says hello to Opal.

The sword tells Opal that it has no intent on being like its sibling that’s bloodthirsty and craves violence, but rather wishes to be helpful and encourage team mates to communicate better.

We all come together and then return to the dwarf looking for the sheet music. Opal lies and explains that after touching the music, there seems to be a malevolent force attached to the music and Opal’s started hearing voices. The dwarf considers it and believes Opal. There’s a priest/cleric from the Knights of Last Wall can review it. Dagon explains that he will put in a good word about us in his reports to the Aspis Consortium

Back to the City Ria

On the way back to the city, Ria flirts with Orsa. Orsa definitely flirts back. When we get back, the conversation starts where Ria asks if Orsa has any issues with control and wanting to kill and eat people (cannibalism). Orsa explains that what they have are a little different - Orsa was cursed and has less control, while Ria is able to shift more freely and has more control over herself. Ria isn’t so sure that this isn’t a gift anymore, and she isn’t fully comfortable with it.

Orsa explains that she’s come to terms with what she is. She explains that everybody makes decisions and Ria needs to decide what she wants. She can run off into the forest and be an animal if she wants, or she can choose not to do that. Ria will think about it.

Ria then implores Orsa to find work with anyone else, and Orsa says that she will consider it, but she understands if they ever cross paths and must fight.

Opal and Valentine

Opal and Valentine get a table and Opal was going to leave to get drinks for but got caught up in whether the sword wants a drink or not. Valentine gets up to get them drinks and Dagon sits down with them to hang out with them. He offers to buy food and Opal ultimately uses message to try to get Valentine to come back and Valentine does return, but only for the promise of free food.

The Squire

A young man runs into the tavern, out of breath and disheveled. He’s having a hard time speaking, saying that the wights have awoken. He says that Ser Logran is out there fighting the undead, and Dagon curses and says that that was the guy, and he guesses we need him alive. The squire thinks that he’s escaped, but he’s very weak.

The knight is ultimately dragged in, and he’s a nephilim with golden blood. He seems to be an aphorite aeon-bound - he has a perfectly chiseled orcish face with silvery skin. He’s wearing armor with Shelyn on it. He seems to be following the Vespine Rose - those that lost their loved ones to the Whispering One’s rise. They worship both Shellyn and Calistria, so they view this passion and love as a vengeful, wrathful eye.

He’s barely conscious when he grabs Valentine’s hand and tells him that they need to get out there and finish the wights, and save the people.
